What you will do
The Commercial Analytics Manager is part of our Buildings Solutions, North America (BSNA) business at Johnson Controls. Will drive the business transformation surrounding our Commercial Sales business in our BSNA business.
Under general direction, will work with the business on data analytics โ predictive and causal, data reporting & advanced data visualizations from a wide range of data sources to deliver analytic-driven insights: uses data visualization tools to rapidly generate impactful, interactive visualizations consumable by the business end users. Apply external analytical tools and best practices to facilitate or improve existing JCI business analytics. With business and sales operations leadership, develop and execute our Building Solutions, North America (BSNA) strategy to organize, store and access the data required to provide leading and lagging performance metrics to the business.
Leads reporting on KPIs for commercial performance and staffing, delivering metrics for local markets as well as executive presentations. Ensures timely and accurate administration of specified operations for BSNA Sales โ i.e. revenue recognition, financial projections, and scenario analysis. Analyzes customer data and sales offering mix trends for strategy development.
Leads efforts to create and introduce new analyses and visualizations of commercial data. Works with IT support teams to ensure
How you will do it
Provides Business Intelligence support for BSNA commercial team.
Structures and conducts complex analysis both predictive and causal.
Applies machine learning and AI techniques to generate forward looking insights to help the business profitably grow.
Understand the current and future state of business requirements and tool capabilities.
Understand the current and future state of modern Data Warehousing tools (visualizations / reporting).
Work collaboratively to design and develop visualizations and/or reports in a dynamic global environment.
Works collaboratively with the data governance team on creating win shuttle scripts to ingest data.
Engage with multiple user groups and gather analytics and reporting requirements.
Integrate quality practices in all aspects of technology delivery; audit work products to ensure quality and sustainability.
Maintain appropriate documentation, traceability and configurations; follow record retention policies.
Owns design, development, and support for a specific analytics function on which may be delivered several solutions (dashboards, reports, etc.).
Works with Business Leads to obtain user acceptance on the overall solution.
Manages the product backlog for visualizations / reports.
Delivers commercial insights and analytics to other groups inside the organization.
Assume ownership and enhancement of current BI platforms currently in use.
What we look for
Bachelorโs degree in marketing, business, finance or accounting or related field.
Minimum 10+ years of finance or business consulting experience.
Expertise in Microsoft Power BI, Azure DB, Databricks, ADLS, ML Models, and/or other BI & analytic tools.
Expertise in Python or similar data analytics & transformation tools.
Experience with data Extraction, Transformation & Loading in a data warehouse environment.
Strong business analysis and modeling skills coupled with solid business acumen.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills required and a service-oriented work ethic.
Expert knowledge in several professional or industry fields and the ability to integrate critical information from multiple diverse areas.
Requires extensive theoretical, practical and industry knowledge.
Experience creating, delivering and defending presentations in front of an executive audience.
Must have the ability to handle uncertainty and have a tolerance for revising and redoing work based on changes in assumptions or conditions.
