• Strong understanding of technology platforms, architecture or tools used to support modeling.
• Strong understanding of foundational computer science tools (repo management, unit tests, deploy pipelines).
• Understanding of ML deployment patterns.
• Strong understanding of common DS/ML tools within Liberty Mutual and externally.
• Understanding of data science concepts and methodologies. Experience with Modeling Architecture.
• Strong understanding of basic actuarial concepts and awareness of advanced concepts and other product specific nuances that impact technical design of modeling products.
• Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of Liberty Mutual and supported business unit or domain area, including strategic goals.
• Demonstrate strong understanding of business products, process and other nuances that inform data science product development.
• Strong understanding of relevant cross functional priorities.
• Broad understanding of data sources, tools and common statistical principles within supported and unsupported areas.
• Proactively own, design and lead highly complex, accurate and timely analysis that is insightful and produces actionable results for stakeholders.
• Own data and results of analysis and recommendation, and ensure the accuracy of the output of any given project.
• Understand limitations/trade offs of tools available and designs projects accordingly.
• Strong direction/input on tools and product design. Ensure design and monitoring aligns with roadmap. Strong understanding of experimental design.
• Proactively identify, garner support for, and manage technical and analytical improvements that enable organizational alignment and foster stronger relationships with cross functional groups.Lead a culture of continuous improvement. Manage technical and cultural improvements cross functionally.
• Provide strategic guidance to improve analytical methods.
• Ensure alignment with cross functional priorities.
• Design model monitoring needs. Prioritize DevOps / MLOps work and engage required cross functional teams. Develop DevOps / MLOps standardization for organization.
• Enable teams to meet the organizational standards.
• Standardize impact measurements and monitoring across portfolio.
• Design risk mitigation strategy for portfolio.
• Lead strategic direction of product, including roadmap development and communicate to stakeholders on complex projects.
• Proactively manage and set expectations for deliverables.
• Handle larger volume of projects.
• Develop and prioritize backlog. Develops business value impact estimates to inform prioritization and measure results.
• Review backlog to ensure it aligns to Vision and Roadmap.
• Set expectations for deliverables.
• Set expectations for stakeholder interaction.
• Independently lead meetings and communications across leadership.
• Tailor message to audience including senior leadership, cross functional, and external partners. Gain buy in.
• Presentations are well organized, and support recommendations.
• Powerfully storyboard the material in a way that clearly communicate message and drive buy in from stakeholder/audience on recommendations.
• Recommendations are creative, practical and will positively impact business results.
• Recommendation must have framework that provides direction on how to move to execution state.

• Enable voice of customer feedback and manage related communications for effective feedback loop.

• Understand Stakeholders POV, anticipate and prepare for key questions from stakeholders ahead of time, and strategically incorporate into project plan.
• Foster strong relationships with internal & external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor`s degree in quantitative field plus 10 years of related experience within insurance, actuarial, data science or technology product management preferred
• Prior experience effectively managing talent
• Master`s degree preferred
• FCAS / ACAS preferred
