We are excited to bring on a Sr. Data Engineer/Sr. Analyst, Application Development to our Workplace Solutions Analytics Data team within Lincoln’s Information Technology and Workplace Cloud & Data organization. This position will provide subject matter expertise and direction on complex projects/initiatives related to the assigned area(s) of application development responsibility. The role will develop innovative complex business solutions by creating new applications, modifying existing applications and providing post production support while following the system development life cycle process. We are in the midst of exciting change, as we migrate existing on-premise data solutions to the cloud. Experience working with AWS native services such as Glue, Athena, Aurora, Redshift, and/or Snowflake is needed. The candidate must have experience leading teams within a Data Organization by suggesting new and innovative ways of gaining data processing efficiencies and participating in architectural and modeling discussions.
- Develop, enhance and support Dataiku workflows and processes for transforming data into Kimball model Facts/Dims
- Analyzes, designs, codes, debugs, integrates, and tests complex software application solutions for systems.
- Serves as a technical expert and provides complex technical guidance to junior team members.
- Provides direction to development teams in areas of project scheduling, technical direction and application development standards.
- Provides input on the development of project plans, test plans and implementation plans including determining estimates on time frames, needed resources and budgets.
- Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
- Investigates and resolves problems including providing support for production systems in a timely manner.
- Partners with internal stakeholders to ensure that systems are designed, developed and implemented from a business point of view.
- Proactively identifies problems and presents/develops complex solutions
- Communicates effectively with internal stakeholders and management.
- Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented.
- Serves as lead technical resource to ensure completion of development tasks.
Must-haves:
- Technically proficient in the following languages/frameworks, application platforms and developer tools (5-7+ years of experience)::
- Amazon Web Services (Glue, Glue Studio, Python, Athena, Aurora, S3, Snowflake, Redshift)
- AWS Nice-to-haves: (CloudWatch, Data Pipeline, EC2, EMR, File Gateway, Lambda, RDS, S3, Secrets Manager, CloudFormation)
- SQL
- Python
