Lockheed Martin is seeking an Operations Data Analyst for a position in Lufkin, Texas. This role is responsible for the development and maintenance of automated tools utilized to promote effective data-backed decision making and improve overall program and site effectiveness. Candidate will need a combination of business acumen, creative thinking, strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as programming knowledge. Tasks will include, but are not limit to the following:

  • Create interactive data analytics dashboards to measure and improve operations performance
  • Collect, analyze, and summarize data to communicate insightful information to key stakeholders
  • Work closely with leadership team, IT team, and other key stakeholders
  • Present thorough and detailed reports to identify areas of opportunity to drive future decision making
  • Perform data validation and maintain integrity of dashboards and databases
  • Maintain and optimize current Tableau dashboards
  • Develop and automate data pipelines
  • Complete Ad-hoc research request from senior leadership

Lufkin Operations facility was established in 1995 and became an integral part of the Lockheed Martin family in 1997. Its approximately 300+ employees perform circuit card assembly, wire harness assembly and final assembly, integration and testing for several missile programs. Lufkin is the regional hub of East Texas, which includes 12 surrounding counties. It is best known for its vast pine tree forests that stretch for miles and the lakes and other waterways that provide great fishing and recreational activities. Local residents have an easy commute to and from Lufkin and have access to larger cities such as Dallas, Houston and Shreveport, LA. Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree
  • Experience in the Business Intelligence (BI) / Data Warehousing (DW) industry
  • Ability to utilize data analysis techniques to identify meaningful relationships, patterns or trends from complex data sets to discover opportunities for improvement and support decision-making
  • Proficient in Python and SQL programming languages, Tableau, SAP HANA, SQL database and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with colleagues to development requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to report findings in clear, structured manner
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively facilitate business meetings with multi-functional personnel at various levels in the organization
  • Self-starter who is detail oriented, well organized and able to multi-task and self-prioritize within in a dynamic and demanding environment
  • Ability to effectively drive change
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly
  • Natural ability to recognize patterns and use critical thinking to identify and troubleshoot issues
  • Interest in machine learning or natural language processing
  • This facility requires special access and therefore all candidates must be a US Citizen

  • Experience in self-service data analytic platforms such as Alteryx, Domino, Tableau Prep, Minitab
  • Experience with scaling data products across distributable computing environments: MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, SQL, MongoDB
  • Proficient in R language
  • Experience training data sets through machine learning to perform predictive analysis
  • Experience working with and creating data architectures
  • Knowledge of Agile programming methodologies
  • Experience in a manufacturing/assembly setting
