The Data Engineer will work closely with a multidisciplinary agile team to build high quality data pipelines driving data solutions. These solutions will generate insights from the organization’s data assets enabling the organization to advance the data-driven decision-making capabilities of at the enterprise level.
Organizational Relationship
This position reports directly to the Sr. Manager, Analytics.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Business Analysts to identify and develop system improvement opportunities to assist business functions with reporting and data management
- Design, develop, optimize, scalable and sustainable data architecture and pipelines that adhere to ETL/ELT principles and meet or exceed stated business goals
- Foster a culture of sharing, re-use, design for scale stability, and operational efficiency of data and analytical solutions
- Lead or participate in the evaluation, implementation and deployment of emerging tools and processes for analytic data engineering
- Solve complex data problems to deliver insights that drive positive business results
- Create high quality certified data sources that analysts and data scientists will leverage to discover insights ultimately driving revenue, growth, and improving productivity
- Develop and deliver communication and training to users of data assets including capabilities, standards, and best practices
- Drive relational and dimensional modeling best practices within the BI team
- Expand & enhance data and analytic capabilities, continue to improve processes, explore/adopt new tools, drive automation and scripting
- Prioritize and resolve complex system issues to provide end-user support to ensure the system is performing as designed, information is timely and accurate, and end-users are functioning effectively. Ensure that operational requirements are property implemented and operational procedures are followed
- Collaborate with other IT team members on the integration of all systems and reporting tools

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in the field of business, computer science or analytics discipline
- 6 years’ experience with data & analytics toolsets, including data engineering and data management platforms
- Experience with Talend data integration tool to implement ETL processes to onboard new data source into Data Lake and perform simple to complex transformations
- Develop and support data quality monitoring framework, developing data quality reporting from strategy to operation
- Expert with SQL and experience with at least one programming language (Shell Scripting, Python)
- Experience with relational databases (Snowflake, Oracle, and SQL Server) and strong working knowledge of Data Architecture, Data Warehousing and Data Lake concepts required
- Experience in developing data services APIs to share data infrastructure that enables real-time analysis of data
- Previous experience working on a collaborative Agile delivery team
- Demonstrated experience delivering high quality certified data sources as inputs to analytic solutions
- Experience working with Cloud data warehouse solutions and other native Azure/ AWS data warehouse technologies
- Proficient with data warehouse architecture and data pipelines (ELT/ETL, data modeling)
- Database development experience using Snowflake and experience with relational, NoSQL, and cloud database technologies
- Prefer prior exposure to machine learning, data science, computer vision, artificial intelligence, statistics, and/or applied mathematics
- Hands-on experience with software design practices, relational databases, and data-driven reporting and analytics applications
- Knowledge of Machine Language techniques, such as regression and clustering is a plus
