Solutions Engineer – Enterprise data management


Position Description

The ISS Solutions Engineer will become a member of the Solutions Engineering team assisting in the modernization of product, processes, and ISS engagement on Relayhealth’s portfolio of products. Experience with mainstream cloud providers & on-prem solutions is required along with a specialization in enterprise messaging and data management. Focus areas include platform architecture, security & protection enablement, oversight & administration of data management including understanding the classification of the data being processed to influence decisions.

This position will provide contextual leadership for technical contributors and processes for the refinement of technical and functional applications across the SDLC, IT, & Operational pillars. Key goals include ongoing development of existing platforms & facilitating the development of new platforms to support fast, accurate continuity of data across multiple products including availability, recoverability, forecasting, & predictability.


Key Accountabilities

  • Analyze business requirement specifications from customers & internal department to consult on best path to success using a mixture of existing capabilities, nextGen capability roadmaps, and best practices.
  • Review the related engineering software design documents, product documentation, product description to ensure customer requirements can be delivered.
  • Assist engineering teams with the implementation phase, by supporting the development and product architects with the support needed to understand any delta scope and any customization requirements arising out of delta scope analysis.
  • Facilitate the scale-up of product functionality knowledge by executing internal enablement activities such as estimation & review sessions.
  • Extensive work with data flows, expense mgmt., and third party integrations using best practice Authentication/Authorization practices.
  • Facilitate oversight & feedback to business teams of products to support proper prioritization.
  • Support PMO related requests & engagement via Solutions Engineers practice documentation and design to support the software lifecycle.
  • Create and/or update overall customer system architectural overview and diagrams as customers evolve their product usage on RelayHealth solutions.
  • Assist in the implementation support of RelayHealth’s Modernization roadmap.
  • Influence the usage of public and private cloud technologies and managed services.
  • Participation in practice & advisory programs including mentoring of peers.
  • Evangelizes principles of lean, ITIL service delivery, & SRE best practices to support anticipated outcomes.
  • Ensures continuous integration and continuous delivery processes are followed within the delivery organization.
  • Partners closely with Security and Compliance to deliver highly secure solutions that meet enterprise controls.
  • Partners with multiple tech & business focused departments to drive cross functional initiatives related to proper onboarding of cloud and use cases, as well as migration strategies.
  • Partners closely with application development & support teams to support consistency in delivery. (e.g roadmap development for data strategies.)


Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure, cloud delivery, and architecture development.
  • 1-3 years with active leadership in data focused department. (DBA, Warehousing, Analytics)
  • 1-3 years in enterprise messaging group supporting message queueing technologies.


Mandatory technical skills required:

  • Message queue technologies (RabbitMQ/Kafka preferred)
  • Database design & mgmt. awareness of top DBMS providers.


Critical Skills

  • Demonstratable problem solving skills deciphering problems into solution alternatives to enable decision.
  • Must have experience interfacing with vast and varied data storage components.
  • Applied mastery of complex use, development and deployment of cloud-based solutions.
  • Have worked with and understands CI/CD concepts, DevOps and possess a consultative mindset.

  • Broad and expert knowledge of application deployment and automation concepts in the cloud context to support highly available data services & cost mgmt..


Ancillary Skills

  • Expert in task management and prioritization.
  • Experience working in waterfall & agile team environments, scrum and Kanban.
  • Proficient with project management, service catalog, and SDLC software mgmt. tools. (e.g Planview, Atlassian Suite.)


Education:
Degree or equivalent experience

  • This is a full-time, salaried position with an expected salary range of US $120,000 to $135,000. A competitive salary is determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as alignment with market data
  • Other Compensation: This position may be eligible to participate in the annual management incentive plan
