The Enterprise Analytics Customer Solutions team is seeking a Sr. Analyst to support strategic initiatives within McKesson’s CPG business. We operate like a start-up and are looking for a candidate that is passionate about analytic insights and solutions to improve healthcare and drive business value. The analyst acts as a consultant and must have experience partnering with business stakeholders and driving change within the organization through analytic insights and business intelligence solutions. Preference will be made to candidates with pharma OTC and/or CPG experience.


Position Description

The Sr. Analyst will work closely with internal stakeholders in a consultative capacity within the CPG group to understand and define business problems, document analytic requirements in order to create analysis that drives operational and strategic decisions and opportunities. This position will collect, manipulate and analyze data from a variety of sources to gain insights that drive decisions within the organization. The analyst will prepare analysis and reports, in the form of visualizations such as graphs, charts and dashboards, detailing the significant insights deduced. Using standard formulas and methods, perform basic and advanced statistical evaluations and analysis of data in all stages including collection, analysis and reporting. Responsibilities will include interpreting data; creating ad hoc reports; modifying and building base layer of customer facing reports when applicable;’ perform statistical analysis, analyzing data to forecast trends and conduct predictability outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Uses Structured Query Language (SQL) to gather and assess data from the reporting database, transactional database, operational data store, and external systems to assist internal and external leadership in decision making.

  • Specific tool and database capabilities with SAP Business Objects, Microsoft PowerBI, Tableau, SQL Server, Snowflake and others.

  • Support’s continuous quality improvement efforts using performance metrics development and monitoring.

  • Continually assesses data quality throughout the database and coordinates with IT in the correction of source data or creation of translation sources, where applicable.

  • Continually researches and identifies best practices for business data analysis via published literature, formalized training and professional development efforts.

  • Authenticates and interprets data based on results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining.

  • Communicates and disseminates the results of information gathering using BI software, SSRS, and/or Excel to name a few.

  • Reasonable and consistent attendance to fulfill requirements of the position


Experience Requirements

6+ years’ experience in data analysis


Critical Skills

  • Working knowledge of OTC products and/or CPG business and the effects of data changes

  • Intermediate/Advanced knowledge of business intelligence applications (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)

  • Expert SQL skills

  • Intermediate understanding of data architecture

  • Intermediate to advanced skills in automation (e.g. Microsoft toolkits, Microsoft SQL server, Snowflake)

  • Established skills in Excel and PP

Preferred Skills

  • Alteryx, R, Python a plus but not required


Education

  • 4-year degree in Computer Science, Finance, Information Systems, Business Analytics or related field or equivalent experience

  • Advanced degree a plus


Physical Requirements

  • Travel may be required in some circumstances < 10%

  • Large percent of time performing computer-based work is required
