McKesson’s Pharmaceutical Solutions and Services (PSaS) Decision Intelligence (DI) team is looking for a Director, Business Insights to support strategic data initiatives. DI team focuses on facilitating data driven change and creating business value through data products and advanced analytics. The successful candidate will have the perfect blend of business acumen, strong analytical skills along with leadership skills to deliver innovative digital solutions that enables effective decision making.


Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop deep understanding of McKesson core businesses and PSaS operating models (decision-making process, workflow management, etc.), and broader McKesson business initiatives
  • Partner with PSaS business unit leads to drive strategic Decision Intelligence capability needs and prioritization planning in the short and medium-long term time horizon
  • Play a critical role in helping PSaS business units realize and extract the value from the data products, analytics, and insights
  • Engage and influence business and tech stakeholders by conveying ideas and communicating effectively
  • Contribute to the design, delivery, improvement and optimization of the DI data products and technologies with the delivery leads, to enable better business insights generation, higher analytics sophistication, and greater business agility
  • Drive innovation of new transformative solutions that lead to better design and setup of DI products, better decision making and business process improvements; catalyze the pursuit of new DI technologies and sciences to satisfy PSaS business needs
  • Plan team DI initiatives, lead cross-functional data analyst teams and formulate efficient operating and engagement models
  • Motivate team members to focus on continuous operational, analytical, and decision-making process excellences; manage and mentor analytics team members, and support their professional growth
  • Accountable for the budgeting and financial management for the team
  • Enforce the quality, privacy, information security, regulatory requirements across the team and make sure these requirements are met for the DI products and solutions


Critical Requirements

  • 12+ years of data and analytics experience with 3-5+ years of product-facing team management experience, and 5+ years in data analytics function(s)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, applied mathematics, machine learning, or a related data centric-technical field. Master’s degree preferred
  • Proven success leading analytics team and developing individuals; Ability to empower teams and individuals to act autonomously and hold them accountable,
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment and build partnership with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Able to translate analytics and technological perspectives into strategic business languages and actional results, and perform powerful business presentations
  • Deep knowledge of business analytics and associated practices relevant to the healthcare/pharmaceutical/biotech industries
  • Industry experience and knowledge in Healthcare or Supply chain
  • Expertise in applying data analysis, data science, BI reporting and other analytics frameworks and techniques to influence business decisions
  • Experience working in Agile framework
  • Experience with SQL, data extraction methodologies, relational and dimensional databases methods


Additional Requirements

  • Experience with cloud computing data platforms: e.g. Azure, AWS
  • Experience working with large-scale data implementation
  • Understanding of AI/ML machine learning and predictive modeling techniques
  • Familiarity with a data visualization tool: e.g. Tableau, Power BI


Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, applied mathematics, machine learning, or a related data centric-technical field. Master’s degree preferred
