Position: Business Analyst
The Business Analyst will serve our business operations and technology teams as we work to build out an enterprise-wide Data Warehouse, related systems, and tactical and strategic solutions. Will collaborate with our internal teams and 3rdparty vendor in building our future state, business process, system interfaces, governance and technology platforms needed to enable a single source of truth for product and customer data, drive a more sophisticated data environment and be positioned to scale for future business growth.
The Business Analyst will play an instrumental role in implementing our data warehouse strategy and other IT solutions. This individual will work closely with internal stakeholders to identify and execute against business requirements.
Roles and Responsibilities
- In collaboration with our 3rdparty vendor, support implementation of strategic roadmap and operational framework for Enterprise Data Management and Data Governance strategy, in partnership with key stakeholders
- Interacts with internal and external customers to gather system requirements
- Defines the system and functional requirements of the product
- Prepares business requirements and functional specifications
- Serves as a resource and/or participant in business process re-design activities. Assists in determining if and how system enhancements may improve process flow and business function
- Responsible for creating business requirements and system documentation, as well as contributing to end-user and project management documentation
- Focus on quality assurance to ensure changes are migrated into production correctly
- Interacts with technical team to convey business requirements
- Contributes to the design, modification and evaluation of products from definition and planning through implementation and release. Acts as a resource for design, development, quality assurance, marketing and implementation as the software product(s) move through their lifecycle
- Facilitate and/or participate in agile sessions to assess, capture, and translate complex business issues and requirements into shared data architecture
- Develops, implements, and maintains policies and procedures regarding regulatory requirements and data model governance
- Collaborate with business partners, internal stakeholders and customers to facilitate timely evaluation, support, implementation and updates of integrated solutions
- Participate in business process modeling, working with developers, with respect to data mapping and validation of the data’s life cycle. Effectively negotiate and influence project direction with alignment to data modeling and data management standards
- Develop and deliver presentations, summarizing key business needs and articulating model options to facilitate model optimization decisions and to drive decision-making with key stakeholders
Position Requirements
- Nashville, TN
- BS or equivalent experience in crucial duties and responsibilities
- 5+ years of work experience in an analysis role in healthcare industry, preferably with health plans
- Proven experience in gathering, organizing and documenting technical and non-technical functional requirements interacting with cross-functional teams
- Ability to analyze, identify, extract, translate and transform business requirements into data points. Document data requirements, definitions, data dependencies and relevant business rules through various methods including independent data analysis and group discussions
- Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees throughout the organization to effectively and professionally achieve results
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills; ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects with overlapping goals and objectives in a fast-paced environment
- Competency in the creation of Functional Requirements, data mapping and system migrations are preferred
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively
- Strong track record of building and maintaining solid relationships with internal and external customers and vendors
- Proven examples of leadership and ability to drive results
- Experience with Data Warehouse and Enterprise Data Management preferred
- Self-motivated; adaptable and flexible; responsive and resourceful in a fast-paced business model
- Knowledge of project management and software delivery methodologies is a plus
