IT Business Analyst Full-time, Salary Salary Range: $61,401.60 – $73,590.40 Close Date: Open until filled Job Summary: The IT Business Analyst acts as the key interface among executive management, middle management, front line end users, project managers, and applicable Business Development Analysts. The IT Business Analyst is responsible for identifying business requirements (e.g., business objectives, stakeholder requirements, functional / non-functional solution requirements, and transition requirements) and translating these requirements into potential IT solutions, while remaining aligned to current programs, projects, and initiatives. Job Responsibilities โ€ข Provide summary documentation on evaluating current state business processes, understanding stakeholder needs, identifying process and IT improvement opportunities, and providing solutions for assigned projects.

Analysis should be conducted through meetings with various stakeholders (i.e., executive, middle management, and front-line employees), analysis of existing documentation, review of industry trends, and/or other various requirement gathering techniques. โ€ข Leverage various tools (RACI, SWOT, Fishbone, Stakeholder analysis, Gap Analysis, Value stream mapping) or other elicitation techniques to capture business needs requirements in accordance with the key requirement types per the Business Analyst body of knowledge (BABOK). โ€ข Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure IT PMO standards and key aspects of the project, which include requirements, project scope, funding, timelines, resource constraints, problem statements, and status updates, are completed. โ€ข Assist as necessary, in helping departments with change management activities (training, user acceptance testing, etc.) to ensure project solutions are implemented effectively.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: โ€ข Current residency within the State of Wisconsin required. โ€ข Valid Wisconsin Driverโ€™s license required and must be maintained throughout employment. โ€ข Associate degree or higher in IT, Business or a closely related field required. โ€ข One (1) year or more of experience in Process analysis requirements gathering, lean principles and practices, project management.

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams). โ€ข Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams). โ€ข Intermediate knowledge Microsoft Visio. โ€ข Intermediate Knowledge of Business Analysts techniques such as requirements gathering, process improvement, and value stream mapping.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 20lbs and push/pull up to 20lbs on an occasional basis required. Preferred Areas: โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s degree or higher preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: โ€ข Read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, reports, short correspondence, and memos. โ€ข Speak effectively before both internal and/or external groups. โ€ข Read, analyze, and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions and procedure manuals, scientific/technical journals and procedures, government regulations, financial and legal documents.
  • Prepare and/or present written communications that pertain to controversial and complex topics. Note: This Original Examination is open to current residents of the state of Wisconsin. In accordance with Rule III section 11 of the Civil Service Rules, a non-competitive examination will be held for this position. The non-competitive examination will consist of a review of candidate materials, education, and related experience.
