Job Detail:
A NauWork client is seeking Data Scientist [Perception] candidates interested in joining their Portland, Oregon team. The Data Scientist will work with their Perception/Computer Vision team researching, developing, and optimizing the world’s fastest flash LiDAR for ground robotics, air robotics, and industrial applications.
SCOPE
- Analyze flash LiDAR data to quantify metrics, such as accuracy, noise, and sensitivity to temperature;
- Design and conduct numerical studies to quantify and validate sensor metric data;
- Present results from numerical studies to appropriate company personnel.
- Collaborate with Perception/Computer Vision team members and other teams, as projects and deliverables require.
Required Experience
- Strong Python aptitude and experience
- C++ experience
- Familiarity with data visualization and visualization tools, e.g. Matplotlib
- Source control experience, e.g. Git
- Mathematics and statistics experience
- Experience with statistical modeling
- Experience working with large data sets
Prefeerred Experience
- Masters in mathematics, statistics, or an equivalent course of study and/or mix of relevant education and experience
- 3 years or more relevant professional experience
- Experience working with perception data, preferably 3D data
- Familiarity with transforms, quaternions, etc.
- Familiarity with optics concepts, e.g. lens distortion, pinhole camera projection, etc.
- Real-time computing experience
- Experience with CI/CD driven development
- Experience annotating and creating datasets for AI models
