WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for an experienced leader for our Personalized Experiences Data Science team. This role is responsible for cultivating the team focused on developing state-of-the-art production grade models to personalize the consumer journey for Nike members worldwide, including Nike.com and Nike App. This includes Nike’s personalization engines such as product and content recommendations. You will serve as a mentor for our data scientists, engineers and product managers and partner closely with Nike Digital Product to shape the team’s roadmap.
WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON
In this role you will…
- Hire, onboard, and manage talented data scientists
- Own end-to-end iterative model development to drive KPIs in service of Nike’s business objectives
- Oversee the development of the personalized experiences roadmap
- Partner closely with Data Science, Engineering and Product leaders to maintain highly aligned roadmaps
- Keep up with the latest research and disseminate the most relevant new ideas in e-commerce and recommender systems
- Collaborate with the broader data science community within Nike
WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH
You will be the leader of the Personalized Experiences Data Science team, reporting to the Senior Director of Personalization Data Science. This team works cross-functionally in partnership with other Consumer Data Science teams, Digital Product, Data Engineering, and Machine Learning Platform teams and is responsible for advancing Nike’s personalized experiences across Nike’s entire e-commerce business.
Personalized Experiences Data Science is part of Nike’s Consumer Data Science team and Insights function. In addition to developing the personalized experiences team, you will be a member of the broader data science team at Nike, and participate in our data science labs, study groups, and team activities, and attend conferences.
- Masters or PhD in computer science, statistics, applied math, or other quantitative field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years demonstrated ability in data science
- Hands on experience building production grade machine learning models
- Strong understanding of model development lifecycle
- Experience mentoring exceptional data scientists
- Experience forging strong partnerships with data science, engineering and product teams
- Experience communicating technical roadmaps to business leaders
- Demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects at once
- A product and entrepreneurial mentality with a willingness to solve any problem
Open to remote work, except cannot work in South Dakota, Vermont, and West Virginia. These candidates will be required to relocate. For employees based in Colorado, this position starts at $157,500 per year. Information about benefits can be found here.
