This is a key role in the development and maintenance of a platform-based Nuance solution that enables a large network of workflow-integrated AI applications while leveraging Nuance’s proven diagnostic imaging solutions to provide critical information for personalized care decisions that increase efficiencies and lower healthcare costs.
Responsibilities

Design and deliver software and infrastructure to improve the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of your services.

Perform data modeling with SQL and NoSQL databases.

Implement transfer, storage and transformation of data, typically in high volume and high frequency.

Work with engineering leads and architect to define, develop, and deploy best practices in all engineering areas across the full development stack.

Influence and create new designs, architectures, standards, and methods for large-scale distributed systems.

Focus on quality right from the design phase, incorporating best practices and engineering for testability.

Consistently deliver results per commitments.

React to issues with mission critical services and mitigate these with a goal towards automating response to all non-exceptional service conditions.

Perform tasks related to securing services and infrastructure and incorporating a security centered mindset towards products, tools, and processes.

Work in a distributed environment with teams around the world.

Stay educated on existing, emerging technologies. Support team efforts in adopting relevant new technologies, tools, methods and processes.

Perform test automation using frameworks .
Qualifications
Minimum years of work experience
-
4+ years software development experience
-
6+ years software industry experience
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Required skills
-
Strong focus on quality right from the design phase, incorporating best practices and engineering for testability.

Good programming skills using C# or Java. Python experience is a plus.

Experience in design and development of applications that run in the cloud, including the use of SDKs, containerization, API development, debugging and monitoring.

Complete software life cycle experience, including deployment to production on cloud.
-
Experience working on creating automation test using test automation frameworks.
-
Experience with cloud databases, including data transfer, data processing and data modeling.
-
Experience with ETL/ELT and data modeling, including data warehouse (or data mart) design (e.g., star schema, facts, slowly changing dimensions (SCD)). ETL/ELT experience ideally includes developing code to transform data in a distributed environment (e.g., Apache Spark).

Working with an agile team on continuous improvement and integration, delivery and deployment to production.

Must be able to work in a distributed environment and balance competing priorities.

Experience securing products, tools, and processes.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, required for communication with globally distributed Nuance teams.

Passion for software engineering, design, and performance.

Good technical, analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

Strong people and negotiation skills, able to listen to disparate technical opinions and build consensus.
Preferred skills

Experience with developing SaaS based solutions.

Ability to program in Azure, using Azure SDK, Azure CLI, Azure PowerShell, and similar tools.

Knowledge on DevOps concepts and tools.

Experience delivering highly available and highly scalable solutions.

Experience with software load balancers, message queues, and other task distribution technologies.

Experience with data lake and analytics technologies in the cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP or equivalent).

Understanding of different techniques and options for High Availability and Disaster Recovery.
