Job Description
The Senior Analyst will deliver insights that help guide business decisions and support go-forward pricing strategies. The Sr. Analyst will work on projects that range from creating dashboards that monitor key metrics to formulating action plans alongside of his/her teammates that define best practice as it pertains to controlling spend and maintaining margin. They will enjoy figuring out how to automate solutions in applications such as Qlik, Excel, SAP BusinessObjects and Salesforce.com The Sr Analyst will gather requirements from sales leadership, develop solutions and conduct quantitative analysis of data results to make recommendations. They will take the lead in collaborating with other teams as needed to produce the most effective solution. This role will be a member of a newly forming Pricing function that will reside within the Enterprise Solutions team of the Medical Systems Group. They will support pricing analysis across all medical business units.
Job Duties
- Use tools such as Qlik, SAP Business Objects and Excel to allow effective analysis and understanding of price points included in a proposal.
- Utilize metrics that include Discount %, Average Selling Price, Average Contracted Price and Minimum Contracted Priced in order to optimize deal profitability.
- Leverage Olympus data to advise on and influence sales and Enterprise Solutions proposals to customers.
- Work to align proposals with goals and expectations of key upper-level decision makers. Identify ideal pricing structures, discount matrices and pricing corridors based on customer and product segmentations.
- Track against contract pricing performance and compliance, maintaining adherence to internal audit requirements.
- Work cross functionally with multiple groups, including sales, operations and finance to deliver insights that help guide business decisions and support go-forward strategies.
- Develop a thorough understanding of compensation plan design, sales metrics and market trends to identify cause-effect relationships in order to increase profitability.
- Identify and implement innovative analytic frameworks and solutions to facilitate strategic business decisions, identify new market opportunities and uncover areas of improvement.
- Build dashboards with Business Intelligence tools such as the SAP Business Objects, Qlik and Excel to visualize key performance indicators for specific customers, segments and/or products.
- Lead communication and presentation of all findings.
- Engage with project sponsors and stakeholders to understand each business initiative.
- Probe for hidden questions and goals.
- Bring structure to each request and translate requirements into an analytic approach.
- Educate and train users regarding the functional use of analyses, reports and other tools.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associateโs Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Math, Statistics, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field is required. Bachelorโs Degree is preferred.
- With an Associateโs or Bachelorโs Degree: minimum of 6 years of experience is required, preferably in the medical device, pharmaceutical, financial service or insurance industries.
- With a Masterโs Degree: minimum of 4 years of experience is required, preferably in the medical device, pharmaceutical, financial service or insurance industries.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft applications (i.e. PowerPoint, Excel, Access) is required. Relational database/SQL experience highly desired.
- Report development experience in Business Intelligence tools such as Qlik or SAP Business Objects is required.
- Ability to travel domestically if projects required.
