Positions in this function is responsible for identifying, understanding, and translating development requirements into technical specifications, conceptualize solutions and designs, and to ensure that code written for data warehouse projects is scalable, adaptable, in synchronization with changing business needs, and delivered meeting agreed upon standards of quality.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Understand the movement of data across the organization and relationships between the systems of record and architect reporting structures that meet the needs of the various stakeholders
  • Partner with project teams and interact with customers to find solutions for projects and development issues for existing and proposed databases
  • Provide development estimates and contribute to the delivery schedule for assigned work. Review estimates from other team members and assists in the creation of delivery schedules in partnership with senior team members
  • Adhere to development SDLC processes and ensure solution development process is adhering to process controls. Adhere to the standards with respect to tools, framework, scripting and versioning techniques as directed by Development Architects
  • Responsible for documentation of development solutions, training, and transition to colleagues for ongoing support. Create and review documentation of training materials done by other team members. Perform maintenance to existing solutions including updating documentation
  • Document detailed designs for development solutions. Code/configure utilizing approved development tools, conduct unit tests, defect analysis and resolution, support testing of solutions by QA and UAT and peer reviews work done by other team members
  • Responsible for assessing and communicating status of activities. Ensure daily/weekly status reports are communicated, including progress against milestones, issues and risks are identified and escalated to PM and the team
  • Mentoring and enabling junior members of the team to become more productive and effective

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of Data Analytics experience
  • Experience with Relational Database concepts, Unstructured Data and understanding of SQL
  • Experience developing with Databricks
  • Experience and curiosity about investigating and resolving data discrepancies
  • Experience with Enterprise Level DevOps tools such as Azure Dev Ops/GitHub/Jira etc.
  • Experience in one or more scripting languages and/or programming languages specifically Python, C# and/or .NET
  • Knowledge and experience in data preparation, analysis, and presentation using data visualization applications (Power BI, Excel)
  • Proficient with Sparx SQL or similar SQL standard
  • Solid communication and project management skills including technical documentation

Preferred Qualifcations:

  • Flexible, team player, excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to plan and work independently in a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities
  • Demonstrated ability to be detail oriented and organized

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
