Weโre actively seeking a talented Sr. Systems Analyst to join the Institutional Division’s Technology team. We are headquartered in Newport Beach, CA but this role can be on-site or 100% remote.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Business Consultation
Works with the business to drive the evaluation of new business ideas, vendors, and systems across the domain.
Proactively identifies gaps and provides options to address new and current systems, processes and procedures in a cost-effective manner.
Conducts analysis to determine the best path for solving business problems/opportunities that may include process improvements, system enhancements, user training, and/or software procurement.
Solution Delivery
Helps to appropriately size and scope ongoing initiatives, enforcing the minimal viable product (MVP) ideal.
Consults with stakeholders, and delivery teams to understand the business value associated with work efforts and helps to prioritize accordingly.
Easily flexes work style and approach based on the specific initiative. Is agile while still applying the appropriate amount of rigor necessary to achieve the desired outcome.
Provides oversight and alignment between impacted parties, identifies alternative delivery options if a conflict is identified.
Writes effective requirements/ user stories with clear acceptance criteria. Works with delivery teams to ensure that the stakeholderโs vision remains intact.
Prepares communications and makes presentations documenting solutions, clearly articulating the value and gaining stakeholder buy-in.
Works independently on larger initiatives and manages the complexity of work, first seeking to understand the problems, and positively working through others to drive execution.
Process Stewardship
Develops integrated flows to demonstrate interoperability between products, operations, and systems; uses best practices and industry-standard techniques.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Data or Systems Analyst;
Broad knowledge of life insurance products, services, markets, and technologies or deep knowledge in a defined segment.
Extensive experience in supporting the planning and deployment of process and technology initiatives.
Exceptional communication skills including the ability to communicate appropriately within the organization and influence others (written and verbal communications as well as visualizations to a variety of audiences).
Strong situational analysis, decision-making abilities, ability to think creatively and solve problems.
Experience working with different workstyles/project methodologies (waterfall, Agile SCRUM. Kanban, etc.)
Ability to adapt and respond constructively to change.
Demonstrate a willingness to experiment with new ideas and not be deterred by occasional failure.
Hands-on experience working with data repositories, ETL and visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) a plus.
Working knowledge of Business Process automation tools and/or Robotic Process automation tools.
Works independently, receives minimal guidance.
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
Bachelorโs degree in MIS, Computer Science, Finance, Engineering or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
