M&T Engineer(Business Intelligence and Data Science)

About the team:

Methods and Tools (M&T) is a transverse team working with different core engineering verticals in Airbus. The USP of this team is working in a multi-functional environment providing digital solutions to engineering problems.

The USP of the team is people with Core Engineering domain knowledge complemented by software development skills. The team plays an enabler role in various digitization initiatives across Airbus utilising the latest technologies and the domain knowledge they have.

Some examples of the digital solutions for various Core Engineering departments such as Data driven designs of wiring, automated routing electrical harnesses, Data Analytics based products aimed at reducing physical tests of material specimens. It also involves developing web-based solutions to encapsulate and automate different workflows such as flight test planning etc. In addition to these points, developing tools for Electrical Wiring Harness and Hydraulic Circuit design process improvements. Some of the tools developed; are used in the areas of Aircraft Safety analysis and Engineering Business Data monitoring etc.

M&T is also deeply involved in Agile Scrum and SAFe in developing state of the art digital products for the areas mentioned above.

Your responsibilities

In this role as an Expert in Business Intelligence and Data Science, you will be working alongside with Transformation Leaders and business stakeholders to enable the Airbus Buxtehude with actionable data to drive better decision making. You will be integral in the design and implementation of reliable, performant and scale-able data intelligence solutions to overall improve our data architecture, business intelligence reporting, data automation solutions and data product developments. You will work in a dynamic and international business environment where your proven experience, expertise and knowledge directly impacts day-to-day business operations.

• You will enhance raw data to the calculate,key performance indicators (KPIs) to support data-driven decision making
• You will develop business intelligence solutions from concept to BI app like Skywise
• You ensure continuous improvement of processes for monitoring data flows and design dashboards with the most important performance indicators
• You will contribute to the continuous improvement of the team and development.

You will be a part of an agile development team and collaborate on a daily basis with colleagues at other Airbus sites such as Buxtehude and Hamburg, which will also require travelling on occasions.

What do you bring?

• You hold a university degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or comparable.
• You have at least 3 years experience in Business Intelligence or as Analyst related roles
• Strong knowledge of BI client tools such as Palantir, DataStudio and QlikSense or other platforms
• Advanced working knowledge of statistical computer languages to perform advanced analytics (PySpark,Python, R) and PL/SQL query
• Knowledge of SAP ECC and its architecture is desirable
• Hands on experience with large scale platforms like Google Cloud Platform
• Strong motivation to learn and master new technologies and techniques
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
• Very good knowledge of English, both written and verbal,
• Knowledge of German is not required, but would be a plus
