What you will do

At MACK & VOLVO TRUCKS NORTH AMERICA you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large. You will work in a multi-brand environment and innovative team, providing reports & data visualization across multiple departments distributing insights trough KPIs and reports for the entire commercial operation, being able to work with state of art technology among BI Developers, Data Scientists, and Data Engineers, and interact with different areas around sales & services.

The role will also interact with different levels of management to help steer the reporting landscape, coordinate the development of reporting solutions internally and for the dealers and drive the IT department that is responsible for the data warehouse development, helping prioritization and requirements gathering for the development and maintenance of the reporting platform.

Your future team has 10 data engineers, 2 front end developers, 6 data visualization experts and 3 data scientists as well as an extensive network of BI specialists across the globe serving around 1200 corporate users and 4500 external users delivering 45 thousand report visualizations per month.

The Data Visualization Specialist will:

  • Create dashboards and interactive visual reports
  • Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) with clear objectives and consistently monitor those
  • Analyzing data and present data through reports that aid decision-making
  • Convert business requirements into technical specifications and decide timeline to accomplish
  • Create relationships between data and develop tabular and other multidimensional data models
  • Chart creation and data documentation explaining algorithms, parameters, models, and relations
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy Power BI scripts and perform detailed analytics
  • Perform DAX queries and functions in Power BI
  • Create customize charts and custom calculations as per requirements
  • SQL querying for best results, use of filters and graphs for better understanding of data

You have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, MIS, Computer Science or related field is required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with data in a project setting
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in Tableau, Power BI or other visual analytics software
  • Proficient with SQL syntax and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience developing reports in SSRS is preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well in both individual and team work environments
  • Proficiency with SSIS in designing, testing, and debugging SSIS packages is a bonus
  • Python or other programming language experience is a bonus

The Business Systems Analyst position is part of the Data, Technology and Engineering team, supporting Corporate Services – Travel and Expense. This position is responsible for supporting and enhancing Vertex’s Travel and Expense solution provided by SAP Concur, as well as growing opportunities to support Global Spend Transparency (Alanda Software) and Meeting & Events (Cvent Software).
As Vertex works to build and enhance our existing system, we are seeking an individual who will help us conduct research, gather requirements, test, configure, and document solutions to issues identified by our business stakeholders. This individual will partner with other internal Subject Matter Experts and external technology vendors. They will work in project teams to ensure integrations between new systems are met and impacts to boundary systems are defined.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in Concur, integration project experience and exposure to pharmaceutical/biomedical field. They will monitor the integration between internal systems and Concur.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in day-to-day project and support work, including analysis, documentation, configuration, testing, integration, and reporting activities
  • Participate in projects surrounding HCP and HCO data as it integrates between CRMs, MDMs, Transparency Reporting Systems and traceability to accounting and expense systems.
  • Provide application troubleshooting, production support and manage the support queue
  • Design data flow diagrams, process mapping, and update/maintain system documentation
  • Monitor integration alerts and partner to resolve failures
  • Implement product enhancements; understand and document business processes and requirements
  • Participate in reviewing, planning, testing and implementing regularly scheduled system upgrades and/or enhancements as per Vertex’s Change Review Process
  • Develop collaborative relationships with IT peers, Corporate Services, Commercial/Clinical, external vendor partners, and various operational teams to help design, develop, and deliver solutions that satisfy business requirements

Minimum Qualifications/EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics, another technical discipline, or equivalent experience

  • Demonstrate the ability to quickly learn new tools based on conceptual understanding of technology
  • Flexibility to adapt to a continually changing and fast paced business environment
