Job Description
The PCAOB has a full-time, regular position for a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst in the Office of Economic & Risk Analysis (OERA). This position will be located at the PCAOBโs Washington, DC headquarters and will report to the Associate Director, Business Intelligence. OERA is responsible for conducting the PCAOBโs economic analysis, research, risk assessments, and other data analysis in support of the entire range of PCAOB activities including standard-setting, inspection, enforcement, and other oversight activities. OERAโs Business Intelligence group is focused on cleaning, normalizing, and developing raw data into information and utilizing it to develop reports for use both internally and externally. The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will work closely with other members of the group and with staff in other operating areas of the PCAOB to ensure timely delivery of reports. This position requires strong, hands-on data analytics and technical skills.
Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Business Intelligence team on development of reports and dashboards, data extraction, and data analysis as appropriate.

Work independently and/or with other team members to create and distribute periodic and ad-hoc reports.

Work independently and/or with other team members to collect and clean primary data from SEC filings and other internal PCAOB documents.

Conduct analysis of public companies, industries, and audit firms that affect audit risk.

Develop and maintain standard analytical processes and routines to proactively monitor, analyze, and report on events and trends in companies, industries, and audit firms that affect audit risk.

Work effectively and coordinate with team members from the Office of Data, Security, and Technology (ODST), as well as with other business subject matter experts (SMEs).
Qualifications
Education/Technical Expertise
-
Bachelorโs degree in economics, statistics, finance, computer science, or related field.

2+ of experience in data analysis and/or equivalent training/education.

Expertise in at least one programming language (SAS, Python, R) and familiarity with SQL and regular expressions.

Solid experience with MS Excel and other MS Office products.

Excellent data management skills.

Excellent time management, organization, and prioritization skills.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Attention to detail and a professional, positive, and proactive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications

Masterโs Degree or CPA.

Familiarity with reporting tools (e.g., SAS EBI, PowerBI).

Familiarity with Securities and Exchange Commission filing data/financial statements.
