GENERAL PURPOSE
Perkins Coie LLP has an immediate opening for a Business Systems Analyst. This person will serve as a member of the ServiceNow application team to support the design and continued development of the firm’s enterprise workflow platform. In this role they will manage ServiceNow design documents for departments, create and maintain user stories/workflows requested by stakeholders, and review and obtain signoff on ServiceNow design documents. They will work closely with ServiceNow developers and stakeholders to resolve questions between design and workflow, as well as adhere to standards set by the ServiceNow development team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following essential functions are primary job duties that incumbents must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation.
- Research: Review and analysis of ServiceNow solutions proposed by Business/Roadmap owners. (NOTE: May be the introduction of a new module, business process, or a change in an existing technology or business process).
- Stakeholder Management: Stakeholder analysis, management, and communication. Understanding what a stakeholder needs and wants, what problems they are trying to solve, and to advocate for them in a solution. Negotiate needs and expectations of the stakeholders. Builds and manages those relationships and expectations. Demonstrated ability to interpret complex systems, financial and technical documentation, and provide understandable summaries to non-technical staff.
- Business Cases: Plans, coordinates, and prepares Business Cases as an assigned task in support of ServiceNow. Uses a standard approach for producing the documented deliverable.
- Business Requirements: Plans, coordinates, and manages business requirements elicitation sessions, documents the end-user requirements, including the roles of the planned users, the as is, and to be process models. Produces and coordinates acceptance of Use Cases/User Stores using established methods for production. Ability to plan and facilitate individual and group requirements elicitation sessions, focus groups, process mapping sessions, and brainstorming sessions that require active involvement of cross-functional teams. Teams will consist of technical and non-technical personnel.
- Data Analysis: Performs structured data analysis of ServiceNow and mapping of application data to ServiceNow for required interfaces. Ensures that new and upgraded systems interfaces are adequately analyzed to successfully integrate with existing technologies.
- Workflow Analysis: Works with stakeholders to develop efficient business processes that are properly integrated with automated systems and ensure these are being properly designed, utilized, and documented. Identifies opportunities to create efficiencies and eliminate waste. Uses standard templates to describe and document business process. Ability to create data mappings between two distinct systems or databases as part of system implementations or conversions. Experience with creating system/data flow maps; presents outcome to stakeholders.
- Risk Management: Identifies risks and make recommendations for addressing or mitigating.
SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED
- In depth knowledge of the ServiceNow platform and its features.
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to fit the needs of a defined project, making progress despite ambiguity.
- Strong analytical skills and a proven track record in performing complex business and product requirements analysis and producing comparisons between established business requirements and product features and functions.
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to prioritize these various efforts.
- Outstanding written communication skills and the ability to work with standardized templates and methods.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize the type of project deliverables required.
- Independent problem solver who can make high quality judgments and decisions quickly with excellent organization skills to work across functions and upwards.
- Experience working with Business Analysis methodologies, tools, and templates
- Proficiency in Microsoft Visio.
SPECIFIC SKILLS PREFERRED
- High level understanding of ServiceNow modules: ITSM, CSM, HR, ITAM, ITOM, ITBM, SmartSheet.
- High level understanding of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Familiarity with Agile software development, including Scrum, and concepts and responsibilities for Product Owners.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
This position requires a minimum 3 years of professional Business Systems Analysis experience on the ServiceNow platform. Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or computer science is highly desirable. Formal training and education in systems and business analysis is highly desirable.

Colorado compensation range: $86,480 to $135,360 annually
Los Angeles compensation range: $100,710 to $157,640 annually
New York compensation range: $100,340 to $157,070 annually
San Diego compensation range: $99,430 to $155,640 annually
Washington State compensation range: $91,220 to $142,790 annually
