Prudentialโ€™s Global Technology and Platform Services is seeking a OS DevOps Infrastructure Developer . This exciting position will offer a qualified candidate the opportunity to be a part of a newly formed Server OS Product team. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, has passion for technology, and a desire to provide outstanding customer service in this role, the Senior Infrastructure Automation Engineer will contribute to the establishment and evolution of an automation framework to enhance infrastructure service delivery. The position will focus primarily on automating operational functions that are currently manually performed

The top technical skills for this role include advanced Windows implementation experience, a high proficiency in scripting languages, calling APIโ€™s and high proficiency in both declarative ( Ansible ) and object oriented ( Python ) scripting languages. Have ability to recognize inefficient processes, and the wherewithal to drive changes. The focus of this job will include the ability to work effectively with other Product teams, Business Units, vendors build upon and expand the role and capability of automation in IT infrastructure management, using modern DevOps methodologies

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Automate and transform mission critical business requirements in Windows and relevant infrastructure activities.

  • Must be able to create, implement, and call/consume REST APIs for various automation tasks relevant to Windows infrastructure activities

  • Implement zero-touch automations that will replace time consuming, error-prone, manual repetitive configuration and provisioning tasks

  • Develop and support applications/workflows/utilities to automate processes via a customer facing service catalog.

  • Treat infrastructure as code using modern DevOps practices

  • Define and Certify Compliance and Engineering Standards for Windows Operating Systems

  • Build, Manage, support, and leverage the BigFix infrastructure environment

  • Leverage configuration and image management tools such as Ansible, Chef, Packer , or comparable tools to perform automated lifecycle management enterprise platforms.

  • Manage and Automate patch & software deployment strategies for Windows Servers on Premises and Cloud infrastructure

  • ServiceNow development experience a plus.

  • Develop Automation for new site deployments and migrations via orchestration

  • Work and deliver in an Agile Development Framework

The qualifications include:

  • Minimum 2+ years current experience in Microsoft Windows server and AD technologies across the full technology stack along with development and automation.

  • 2+ years Hands on experience with REST APIs, PowerShell, Jenkins, Ruby, CLI Parsers and Python to build automation solutions. Must know how to write, publish, secure, consume, and troubleshoot APIโ€™s .

  • Proficient in certifying new Operating Systems and relevant applications to comply with Engineering Specifications

  • Proficient in writing Ansible Playbooks for windows automations.

  • Strong understanding of configuration, security patch and Vulnerability management principles

  • Understanding of virtual environments ( VMWare/vCenter/Hyper-V, AWS, Azure )

  • Understanding of various deployment methodologies (Templates, MDT , SCCM, BigFix , Puppet, Jenkins , Ansible Tower )

  • Experience with the following Windows OS ( 2008 R2, 2012 R2, 2016, 2019 )

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving, and the ability to debug complex-cross systems problems, and document root cause including remediation and detection

  • Demonstrates knowledge of Virtualization , Networking , Data Center Migration and Disaster Recovery

  • Understanding of software version control, deployment & build tools and SDLC practices

  • Ability to process new concepts and technologies quickly, has an appetite for learning

  • Help evangelize IT best practices and trends including Automation, DevOps , etc.

  • Ability to provide 7x24x365 on call support.

  • Familiarity with SAFe methodologies

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or related technical field.
