Job Location: Bangalore/Bengaluru
You will be responsible for –
- Creating complex data processing pipelines, as part of diverse, high energy teams
- Designing scalable implementations of the models developed by our Data Scientists
- Be part of in implementing, shaping and supporting the data platform vision set for Rapido
- Hands-on programming in Python, Java, Scala with a focus on testing your own code
- Deploying data pipelines in production based on CI/CD practices
- Being aware of what tools/frameworks/platforms works best for what kinds of problems
- Bringing focus on solving business problems and not tech for the sake of tech.
Ideally, you should have –
- 5+ years of experience building and deploying large scale data processing pipelines in a production environment. For transitioned data-engineers, overall experience of 8+ is preferred.
- Experience building data pipelines and data centric applications using distributed storage platforms like HDFS, S3, NoSql databases (Hbase, Cassandra, etc) and distributed processing platforms like Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Presto, Kafka, Oozie, Airflow, etc in a production setting
- Hands on experience in any of MapR, Cloudera, Hortonworks and/or Cloud (GCP stack is a bonus) based Hadoop distributions.
- Experience working with, or an interest in Agile Methodologies, such as Extreme Programming (XP) and Scrum
- Knowledge of delivery best practices like Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Integration (CI)
- Senior developers (6+ years) should have played the role of Architect for small/medium enterprise projects. On larger projects, you should have worked closely with fellow architects to come up with the architecture and take it further.
- Desire to contribute to the wider technical community through collaboration, coaching, and mentoring of other technologists.
- Actively seeking to learn newer tech and curiously experimenting is a trait that would be preferred.
