Job Description:
At Regions, the Audit Data Analytics Associate develops data analytics and business intelligence to automate control testing and assist continuous risk assessment to support internal audit activities in accordance with the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing. The Internal Audit Data Analytics team currently works with all internal audit teams who audit all business groups at Regions. This role collaborates with Internal Auditors and other Data Analytics team members to create innovative solutions to support audit conclusions and risk assessments at enterprise and auditable unit level.
Primary Responsibilities
Under supervision, works with audit teams to create data analytics that support audit engagement objectives and help solve business problems
Analyzes data trends and/or anomalies to support audit conclusions; assists as needed to ensure these results are fully supported in the workpapers with limited supervision
With assistance leverages data analytics to help size audit issues as appropriate
Uses data to identify process improvements for the business unit or enterprise based on collaboration with audit team
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Requirements
Bachelors degree
Two (2) years experience in data analytics role
Preferences
Bachelors degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, MIS, Computer Science or related field
Professional certification or progression towards one (preferably SAS Certification)
Skills and Competencies
Proficient at meeting deadlines and objectives
Active listening skills and ability to ask questions as required to validate understanding
Ability to select appropriate communication style (meetings, emails, etc.)
Proficient at SAS, SQL, Python, R, and/or JAVA
Experience with visual analytics tools, such as Tableau, PowerBI)
Experience in data mining, data cleaning, and business intelligence
