This internship position is located in Santa Clara, CA. Below is a description of some of the projects an intern may expect during the course of their internship.

What you will learn

  • Hands-on experience in developing, testing, and deploying microservices
  • Experience working on various AWS offerings like S3, SQS, IAM, Glue, Redshift, and more
  • Exposure to industry best practices followed while design, developing, and testing software
  • Learn about FHIR and other healthcare standards
  • Be part of the enthusiastic engineering team

Key Responsibilities

You will join a team of 10+ engineers in crafting solutions to some of the most complex data pipeline problems in the world in diagnostics today. There are thousands of data points generated in systems that are not only inaccessible but were never designed to talk to each other. You will be helping create enterprise-scale software systems to tackle the fragmentation of this data using FHIR. You will be up close and personal with all the usual things, like design conception, design reviews for components or features, development, and testing of the core software stack. How you will spend your time:

  • Software Development: This is hands-on. You’re writing high-quality code for software that will perform at scale, be supportable, and be extensible, kind of role
  • Process & Operations: Ensuring the software stack integrates with our existing CI pipeline and contributing to continuous improvements; independently design, plan and deliver high-quality software
  • Leadership: Ensuring we amplify our culture. Embody our value for technical excellence, integrity and support, and compassion for individuals

Who You Are

Education

  • Any Degree Level. Undergraduates who have completed at least one year of undergraduate coursework at a university, current graduate students (MS or PhD) who are available to work full time for the duration of the internship, or recent grads (within 2 years of receiving their last degree)

Preferred majors: BS or MS in Computer Science

Other Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in BS or MS Computer Science or in a related area
  • Hands-on software development experience in Java, Python, JavaScript or similar language
  • Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular
  • Knowledge of building application using cloud platform like AWS, Azure is plus
  • Commitment to agile practice, and scalable architecture
  • Ability to understand complex workflows and develop and validate innovative solutions to solve difficult problems
  • Currently enrolled in BS or MS Computer Science or in a related area
  • Hands-on software development experience in Java, Python, JavaScript or similar language
  • Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular
  • Knowledge of building application using cloud platform like AWS, Azure is plus
  • Commitment to agile practice, and scalable architecture
  • Ability to understand complex workflows and develop and validate innovative solutions to solve difficult problems

Program highlights

  • Intensive full-time (40 hours per week), 12-week paid internship
  • Program start dates are in May and June 2023
  • Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location for this position of California is $21.00 – $50.00 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
