Job Detail:
The Junior Business Analyst is responsible for researching and analyzing existing and new potential markets for RTP’s Color Masterbatch division to drive new sales and maintain healthy core business. This position will take direction from the Market Manager.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with Market Manager, Color R&D, and supply chain on new products appropriate for new markets.
- Study existing products servicing existing markets and provide analysis on pricing trends and raw materials costing trends, ensuring RTP company maintains healthy business levels.
- Work with Color R&D on new raw material research as it relates to areas of new and existing business.
- Develop educational pieces and line cards of new masterbatch products (in coordination with Marketing Communications) and schedule product roll outs with Market Manager and Sales team.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Able to stay informed of developing technologies in the Color R&D area.
- Travel to support efforts at our plants, on the road support for sales and Market Manager, and general continuous education internally.
- Other duties/responsibilities as assigned, or apparent.

- Must be able to communicate with people in various positions and levels within and outside the company

- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Plastics, Material Engineering or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience and 3+ years of related experience required
- Must be proficient with Excel, Word, and Outlook; must be adept at learning new software

- Required to sit, perform keyboard work, for prolonged periods of time
- Operates a computer and other office equipment such as a copy machine and printer.

- Communicates via phone, email, in person (both internal and external)
- Talk and hear to coordinate day-to-day phone and in person transactions
- Travel to other locations and customers.
Occasionally
- Lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
Standard office, lab, and production environments. The noise level is typically low, due to office equipment, the noise level on the production floor and lab is typically medium to high. Specific vision abilities may require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. This position requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area such as safety glasses, shoes, face shields, gloves, etc.
