Here are Sabre, Data analytics Platform engineering and SRE team is responsible for infrastructure provisioning, maintenance, and support of 100s of datasets, data processing pipelines and applications. We are looking for a highly competent Cloud engineer to join our team. As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to work with modern cloud services related to Peta-byte scale data warehousing, data processing, streaming and batch pipelines and all aspects of governance, security, logging, monitoring, alerting.
Responsibilities:
- Automate infrastructure creation using Terraform.
- Evaluate cloud services and architecture to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
- Participate in the design, development, and evolution of cloud infrastructure
- Work with the development team to optimize and improve data processing pipelines and applications.
- Work with Development, Architecture and product management teams as needed.
- Implement effective monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Monitor usage and capacity and suggest optimizations to reduce costs.
- Implement industry best practices for system hardening and configuration management
- Responsible for setting up and creating GCP deployments, administration, Operations, and maintenance
- Establish or follow prioritization processes to drive work with a sense of urgency about getting work completed
- Consult with stakeholders to specify requirements and solutions which address business challenges and opportunities
- Proactively share Cloud Ops best practices, tools and emerging technologies
- Identify Opportunities for automation and implement innovative solutions to drive efficiencies, simplicities and speed
- Maintain business continuity and disaster recovery processes
- Have on-call responsibilities in rotation with the team.
- Should be able to drive root cause analysis for production issues and continually evaluate and improve our processes and application standards.
- Participate in long-term strategies for scalability, stability and highly availability of platform
The successful candidate will have:
- 5-7 years of experience as Developer/SysAdmin/DevOps engineer.
- 3+ years of experience in developing, operating, and supporting Systems in the Cloud.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, computer science degree preferred.
- Strong experience in designing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Experience with Scripting languages such as Python, Perl.
- Strong experience with Red Hat Linux and Networking concepts.
- Deep passion for modern infrastructure/Cloud/SaaS practices.
- Demonstrated track record of highly collaborative cross-functional work.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks/subprojects simultaneously, organizational skills
- Proactive team player with the ability to work in a globally dynamic environment.
- Experience designing and operating cloud-based CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent communication skills.
Nice to have skills:
- At least one cloud related certification.
- Strong knowledge and work experience with Google Cloud.
- Experience with Programming languages such as Java, Scala.
- Experience with SRE practice.
- Cloud Datawarehouse experience.
- Experience with Streaming technologies like Kafka, PubSub, Spark Streaming
