This position is for a seasoned professional in Metrics, Analytics and Reporting, to work independently with minimal supervision. To advise business leaders regarding reporting requirements, report developments, analyse outputs and spot trends to assist the business with planning and management of sales and operations activities.
We will count on you to:
- Summarises and communicates key trends (including gap analysis) and potential issues utilizing knowledge of insurance and data handling to support business improvement and business strategy projects
- Reviews analytical reports (often across team boundaries) of moderate complexity to allow fact-based, predictive and ‘what-if’ decision-making to enable data-driven decisions and oversight
- Determines appropriate “look and feel” formatting needs for data based on knowledge of customer needs using appropriate presentation styles
- Communicates complex key insights in written and verbal form and advises business leaders regarding their reporting requirements
- Leads moderately complex projects within the department, working with colleagues within other groups and IT to develop and continuously improve the reporting infrastructure, including data housing, data modelling, report performance, and report design and delivery tools that allow us to leverage our corporate data assets to help answer complex business questions
- Demonstrate a high level of adaptability to meet changing business requirements. Works regularly across team boundaries to deliver results on key department and business initiatives
- Suggests improvements to departmental activities based on knowledge of the industry and regulatory requirements such as compliance standards, health and environmental policy, and department- and operating company-specific procedures and guidelines
What you need to have:
- Must have a strong working knowledge of QlikView, QlikSense or Tableau
- Experience in working on the development of sites using global data sources (or familiarity with multi-data source differences and alignment)
- Understanding and combining multiple data sets and delivering end-state dashboards
- Sound data handling and scripting skills, including SQL and variable driven code, is desirable
- Ability to visualise and develop a logical approach to solve problems
- Working knowledge of key insurance principles and practices.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communications
- The overall experience of 2-5 years with experience in the insurance industry, particularly claims data would be highly desirable.
- Eye for detail to be able to look at data from multiple angles is a must.

- Operational and Risk performance metrics
- Data aggregation and enhancement for analytics to drive insights for internal stakeholders, clients and insurers
- Input into data capture, data maps, gap analysis and quality improvement opportunities Ad-hoc tactical emerging requirements ahead of (and as input into) strategic solutions
