The Role
The IT Operations Engineer is accountable for assisting IT Operations Manager in the operations of the landscapes and the delivery of the day-to-day application services according to the agreed Service Levels Agreements and/or Service Tier Managements. They are the day-to-day service integrator (end-to-end) to ensure applications landscapes remain compliant. The IT Operations Engineer drives Change Management Process, Controls execution and Operations, working with Shell IRM & Shell Compliance team for ensuring Landscape is always compliant. The IT Operations Engineer assists with new controls onboarding for the new deployments/ applications which are in project phase. This includes analyzing and understanding business functional and non-functional requirements for compliance impact, as well as assessing implications of landscape changes and reviewing for enhancement and continuous improvement opportunities. They also build knowledge of relevant information risks and regulatory requirements.
The IT Operations Engineer should be skilled in Business Analysis, Data Solutions, Integration Solutions, and On-Premise & Cloud Hosting. They will also show enough knowledge in related areas such as IT Service Management & Integration Support, Manage Supplier.
This role is expected to manage application landscape belonged to the Business & Planning Portfolio.
Key accountabilities towards the landscapes in scope are:
- Be end-to-end accountable for the IRM controls (General Controls, External Facing, Data Privacy, Legal and Regulatory controls etc…) execution and collecting Evidences required for IRM Audit, SIA
- Play role of Control Owner.
- Be end-to-end accountable for Other compliance like ToE, DBSR, new Upgrade, Findings Management etc…
- Principal interface between Upstream Business and other ITSO Teams for day to day actives. Work closely with our Technology/Information Management (IT/IM), IT Engineering, Information Digital Technology Services and Operations (IDSO) and Infrastructure Service Providers (ISP) and other 3rd party vendors, for the escalation and resolution of system operational issues and the management of formal Situations
- Participate in project Support & Transition (S&T) engagement to ensure right level of controls are onboarded for the new projects onboarding.
- Ensure effective Transition to Support from Controls and compliance standpoint. Ensure effective controls & Compliance onboarding to the Run & Maintain (Operations) team with appropriate documentation.
- Translate the need for new User Access Management controls to Service Catalogues in a consistent way
- Ensure data quality of asset configuration management with appropriate asset tagging, application instances (AI)/application modules (AM), dependence infrastructure assets etc.
- Overseeing and management of operate activities done by Infrastructure team, participate in to the change implementation for such activity.
a) Infrastructure Migration,
- Work in an Agile fashion to bring more transparency in Activity and work that we do
- Be accountable for compliance to Information Risk Management (IRM) controls, and adhering to IDSO governance and processes for delivery activities within the landscape scope
Special Challenges:
The person is responsible for assisting the IT Operations Manager in the end-to-end compliance and IRM operations with technical and/or functional skills where the size and scale of the application landscape requires specialist to assist in the overall landscape management and operation deliveries.
The scope includes highest compliance to ensure optimal delivery, support and assurance of both in-sourced and out-sourced scope of the portfolio.

Preferred
- Experience in working in a global implementation/support of in house and off the shelf application
- Good understanding of the Upstream Business SOM business environment.
- Extensive experience in a multi-disciplined IT environment with a strong background
Broad understanding of complex and integrated application/infrastructure, process, governance and supplier landscape – Preferred
