Data Management Engineer

As part of Internal Data and Benchmarking work scope, Data Team is responsible for collating project data for cost, schedule, man-hrs & quantity. This data is extracted from various avenues like Project reports, close out reports, contractual documents, estimates, cost reports, P&Ids, BOQs, etc. Data capturing engineer has critical role to extract important information and capture in Shell’s inhouse tool DCMT using various data capturing templates. Incumbent is required to be:

1. Engineering degree holder with 6-10 yrs of experience

2. Analytical mindset and good knowledge of Excel, Power BI or similar tools.
3. Construction project experience and good understanding of Project Quantities.
4. Understanding of critical project documents and deliverables.
5. Able to work in dynamic direct & virtual working environment with excellent attitude.

6. Self-motivated, Strong Communication and Stakeholder Management skills.

7. Experience in Oil & Gas Projects
8. Experience in working in some data driven environment is better e.g. worked as Project Controls engineer, Estimation engineer, Data engineer, etc.

9. Capable of handling large sets of data.

Job Role:

• Data mining from project deliverables to standard excel templates – range of deliverables from Strategy, BOD, Purchase Orders, Data Sheets, Project Reports, Closeouts etc.
• Extracting technical data, cost, schedule, man-hrs, quantity etc. from Standard Project documents and arrange data in specific formats
• Experience in Project Controls and Estimation is preferred
• Expert level proficiency in Excel.
• Experience of Data Visualization and analysis. Knowledge of software’s like Spotfire, Power Bi.
• Domain Knowledge of Oil & Gas and Renewable Energy Projects will be added advantage.
• Support Organization in compiling and formalizing reports, close out reports i.e, lessons learnt, cost and schedule workbooks, benchmarking activities etc.

Responsibilities:

• To be a part of Internal Benchmarking work scope (assessing cost and schedule of a project with internal/industry metrics).
• Engaging with various region PSM’s, Project cost estimators and Benchmark Engineers to collect the project CAPEX reports for various stage gates or at various phase of the projects (Asses, Select, Define & Execution).
• Project reports are collected based on the Shell Business one plan.
• Responsible for collating project data for cost, schedule, man-hrs, quantity etc.
• Data extraction(mining) from various project deliverables like Project reports, close out reports, contractual documents, estimates, cost reports, BOD, Purchase order, P&Ids, BOQs, etc.
• Extracted important information’s will be captured in Shell’ inhouse tool DCMT (Data Capture Metric Tool) using various data capturing web templates or in the standard excel templates.
