Job Detail:
This position requires candidates to have a DoD issued Secret Clearance or higher.
Our client was recently awarded a government contract and has a need for a team of junior (2+ years exp) data scientists. Job duties are as follows.
Collates, reviews, and analyzes combat readiness data gathering systems. Performs planning, analyzing, coding, designing, integrating, testing, deploying, and supporting production of ACC Readiness data systems, to include Palantir Envision, for all stages of the software product life cycle. Tasks the Contractor shall perform include, but are not limited to:
- Provide analysis capability in Envision to develop project concepts, create data pipelines/objects/ontologies, code with Python, SQL, R code as required, create application dashboards, and provide ongoing user support.
- Execute analytical experiments to help solve problems across various domains and industries.
- Identify relevant data sources and sets to mine for client business needs and collect large structured and unstructured datasets and variables.
- Devise and utilize algorithms and models to mine big-data stores; perform data and error analysis to improve models; clean and validate data for uniformity and accuracy.
- Facilitate meetings with internal and external stakeholders, team members, and users to understand, define, and map data processing and visualization requirements.
- Recommend alternate options and propose solutions for data analysis with reports, and management tools to meet defined end-user needs.
- Recommend changes to underlying data sets and source reports to optimize data processing and visualization efforts for senior level leadership.
- Draft and update guidance, references, and training documents for users.
- Provide recurring user training for the Foundry Palantir Envision suite.
- Provide users support for ACC portfolio of Envision portfolio to include data sources, data pipelines, ontology, objects, preparation, workbook, contour, quiver, workspace, and code repositories, and any additional applications.
- Manage multiple projects with tracking, milestones, deadlines, timelines, and time allocation to ensure prioritization and project completion.
- Coordinate and communicate with stakeholders, team members, and users as required to manage programs and projects.
- Manage site owner and admin of knowledge management systems (SharePoint, TMT) with accurate, current information, and optimize processes for efficient use by users.
- Create and provide reoccurring briefings and deliverables to leadership on all responsible programs as requested.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or similar
- Current IAT Level II certification IAW DoD 8570 / Current Data Science certification from an accredited institution.
- 2 years of experience working independently to design and code web-based database applications in Python, SQL, R, Tableau with object-oriented design skills.
- 2 years of experience using unclassified (NIPRNet) and classified (SIPRNet) network enterprise environments
- 2 years of experience practicing software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- 2 years of experience design data pipelines, ability to work with cloud native applications, understanding of data structures and algorithms with data analytical applications like Foundry.
- Experience working multiple projects throughout the full software development lifecycle, from conception, architecture definition, detailed design, scoping, planning, implementation, testing to documentation, delivery, and maintenance.
- Experience in API development for multiple system with the ability to improve the functionality of current software systems.
- Experience working with source code and version repository, familiarity with UI Toolkits and frameworks. Experience analyzing complex technical information, write precise, detailed technical specs and documentation for users.
- Experience updating front-end and back-end software systems and applications, ability to run tests to keep software operational.

Pay: $90,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
