Description

Idaho Transportation Department has an opening for an IT Operation and Support Analyst II for in our current headquarters location in Boise. This position will provide Tier 2 and 3 level technical support. Responsibilities include technical leadership of large-scale statewide efforts, data collection and analysis, technical mentorship and documentation, and standardization of IT processes/procedures/hardware and software.

NOTE: This position requires a criminal background check prior to final offer.

Example of Duties

  • Collaborate with others to plan and execute various statewide initiatives and technical projects;
  • Standardize IT process and Software/Hardware;
  • Gather various data through the utilization of several tools;
  • Analyze data and format it into understandable metrics for making decisions or presentations;
  • Research, document, and improve processes and procedures to provide better support to internal and external customers;
  • Provide training to District IT and other ETS employees on the use of new and existing tools.
  • Administration and maintenance of Service Ticketing, EndPoint Management, and Reporting systems (currently Ivanti Service Manager, Ivanti EndPoint Manager, and Ivanti Xtraction).
  • Implementation and support of operating system and application patching and updates to ITD computer endpoints.
Minimum Qualifications

Considerable knowledge of computer trends, software capabilities and terminology; computer hardware and software installation and troubleshooting.

Experience

  • Independently installing, upgrading, and maintaining one or more computer networks including computers, server hardware and software;
  • Working with network protocols such as IP address schemas, DNS, DHCP, and directory services;
  • Independently evaluating and resolving computer, system, and user problems including application operations, hardware malfunctions, and telecommunications problems;
  • Independently evaluating and defining customer/system needs and recommending and implementing new IT solutions;
  • Recommending the installation and use of applications and system software; leading technical teams or projects.
