Intro to role:
We are looking to add an AWS Data Engineer to our Data, Insights and Analytics team. You will coordinate with senior engineers and Subject matter experts for understanding the data and models, build the appropriate data ingestion pipelines, dashboards and complex business specific visuals for easy grasping the information.
You will be part of a young and enthusiastic team helping Taylor and Francis to drive agile development for building enterprise level analytical platform as part of Business Measurements, Insights and Analytics initiative. You will have the opportunity to take up and work in challenging engagements. You must have a strong hands-on experience in using a variety of analytical methodologies and implement it in a wide range of data initiatives aiming to generate and present new, useful and actionable insights.
What you’ll be doing:

Understanding and developing scalable high quality bigdata ETL pipeline around AWS analytical managed services.

Understanding project goals and collaborating with the team to achieve results by following scrum principles.

Conducting data discovery activities, performing root cause analysis and making recommendations for the remediation of data quality issues.

Automated implementation/deployment of code in the cloud-based infrastructure (AWS preferred)

Showcasing good organizational and time management skills and ability to prioritize work as per deadlines.

Understand the data and generate data catalogue and data mapping document.

Learn, develop and contribute towards Data Engineering best practices
What we’re looking for:
-
An overall experience ranging between 3 to 6 years in data engineer and analytical roles.

A minimum 3 years of experience in cloud and bigdata technologies. AWS experience is preferred.

Strong analytic skills related to working with structured and semi structured datasets.
-
Hands on experience in developing world class data engineering practices and its implementation.
-
Strong Programming experience in any of python, R java/Scala -python, R preferred.

Data warehousing experience on tools like Redshift/Snowflake or similar.

Experience in business intelligence and data visualization is preferred.

Hands-on experience on version control tools like Github or similar.

Hands-on experience on automated deployment tools like terraforms, travis and AWS code pipeline or similar.
