Position Purpose
The Online Optimization Analyst develops, manages and executes experience testing and personalization program across Home Depot’s desktop and mobile assets; is responsible for improving performance through constant experimentation campaigns involving design elements, messaging and enhanced functionality. This role requires the analyst to utilize quantitative and qualitative data to identify underperforming areas of the site and opportunities to improve the customer experience. The analyst will collaborate closely with the UX, Usability, Product Management, Creative, Analytics, Merchandising and Marketing departments to identify, prioritize, execute, report, and operationalize A/B or multivariate testing, as well as supporting site personalization programs.
Key Responsibilities
- 15% Responsible for utilizing available data and collaborating with various business teams to identify optimization opportunities.
- 70% Responsible for designing and executing tests or personalization campaigns, reporting on campaign results as well as providing in-depth analysis and insights for operationalizing test winners. Additional responsibilities include evangelizing the testing and personalization program across various business groups within homedepot.
- 15% Coordinate and project-manage various teams, including external consulting partners involved in the end to end testing process to assure governance and standard processes are followed, and support effective scaling up of the testing program at Home Depot.com.

Travel Requirements
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Expert in web analytics and related disciplines.
- Basic understanding of HTML, Javascript, JQuery, CSS a major plus.
- Working knowledge of site optimization, product development, usability or UX .
- Previous experience managing multiple projects across various partner teams.
- Demonstrated skills in deriving insight from data to identify areas on site that can benefit from testing.
- Previous experience with Adobe analytics (Site Catalyst, Discover, Insight) and testing (Test & Target) tools is a plus, but not required.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in statistics, computer sciences, information management or another quantitative field

- Demonstrably data-driven and open-minded.
- Strong quantitative analytics skills using web analytics tools. Comfortable with consuming visual and qualitative data from heatmaps, surveys, replays, and call center feedback.
- Strong communication and inter-personal skills, can comfortably navigate amongst various partner groups with potentially conflicting business objectives and timelines.
- Self-motivated, independent, passionate towards optimizing web and mobile design via creating and testing delightful customer experiences.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, be a team player, and manage change effectively.
- Basic understanding of statistics and concept of experimental design, having A/B or multivariate testing experience a plus (does not have to be tool-specific).
