About the Role:
The Engineer I/II is responsible for the following tasks: efficiently and accurately create reliable inventory for circuits and equipment in the MSS system(s); achieve on time delivery of our tasks within the circuit order flow; provide designs in the form of Circuit Layout Records (CLRs) for all Windstream Enterprise customer circuits used to accomplish installations and changes; maintain accurate CLRs for “in service” circuits to be used for trouble and repair.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide analysis of technical products, systems, and/or data
- Design inter & intra office circuits for a variety of circuit types which are customer driven
- Assign network components required to provision circuits and inventories these assignments in MSS
- Accountable for circuit design activity relating to network elements such as SONET, Optical rings and Ethernet, Digital Cross Connects, DWDM, Digital Loop Carrier systems, Broadband, and interoffice facilities
- Access network equipment to verify assignments and perform basic provisioning steps as required
- Interface with Project Coordinators, Project Management, Data and Voice Translations, SAT, Field Operations, and other Engineering teams on circuit provisioning and related operational issues to facilitate effective circuit deployment
- Order central office and customer premises equipment for Win Enterprise customer circuits
- Other duties as assigned

- Good understanding of telecommunications industry and networking principles
- Experience with common networking and engineering concepts
- Computer software knowledge to include Microsoft Office, Custom Planning Tools, and databases
- Good analytical skills

- Ability to stay current with the technological developments in the industry
Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
Engineering degree/certification and 3-4 years experience or 6 years equivalent related Engineering/Technical experience or a combination of education and related Engineering/Technical experience required
Eng I/II:
Basic understanding of Telecom, would be trained on CLEC/BB design and some ILEC design knowledge as well. Expectation would be to complete all CLEC/BB design tasks with an understanding of ILEC but support may be needed on some ILEC orders.
