Job Detail:

Local Unit & Position Description:

In this role, you will be directly reporting to Team Lead- Renewables Assets & Operations Management.

  • As an Assistant Engineer – Operational Analytics, you are expected to contribute to continuously raising the standard of asset management across the World.
  • You are expected to play a key role in revision and introduction of methodologies, standards, new services in tune with fast changing business and technological environment.


The individual role will include the following:

  • Undertake remote SCADA and site configurations and monitoring of operational assets, log operational data/events, and communicate and co-ordinate outputs to sites and appropriate stakeholders. Ensure robust task handovers.
  • Support operational site maintenance activities including defect recording, work planning, workflow management, release of plant and maintenance scheduling. Use appropriate electronic asset management systems as required.
  • Assist analysts, field technicians, and site managers in root-cause analysis, troubleshooting, and resolving wind turbine/inverter faults.
  • Assist in preparation, updation and maintenance of PowerBI dashboards for large portfolios
  • Analysis of data to diagnose and resolve issues
  • Ensure compliance to all regulatory and contractual requirements through adherence to all operational procedures, processes, and policies.
  • Application of R/Python, SQL, Big data and machine learning algorithms to anticipate typical problems, identify potential or recurring problems, discover opportunities for improvements, and take appropriate action.
  • Mentoring and training other employees to ensure employees are properly trained and competent complete with the appropriate documentation.
  • Respond to changing conditions with regard to maximizing asset safety and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with regional personnel and system operators from other companies on matters pertaining to customer problems or demands. Utilize accurate and efficient three-way communication skills on inbound and outbound telephone conversations.
  • Maintain an environment oriented to trust and help team members reach their potential
  • Participate in R&D projects and contribute to publishing of journal papers.
  • Any other appropriate duties as directed by line manager
  • Coordinating input from cross-functional global technical specialists and writing of the technical due diligence reports.

Position Qualifications:

  • 3 years of tangible work in data analysis preferably wind/solar industry experience.
  • A minimum of Diploma in Engineering (electr or course of study that demonstrates strong analytical and technical skills. B.Tech/BE may also apply.
  • Aptitude and passion for data analysis, an eye for the details and ability to see the larger picture and patterns in the abstract setting
  • Ability to work in a pressurised consultancy environment – operating to tight timescales.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written, with demonstrated ability to follow instructions diligently.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality, be detail oriented and disciplined, and adept at multi-tasking.

Desirable:
  • Strong programming and computational skills with R/Python, SQL, PowerBI.
  • Capable of working as part of an integrated global team
  • Should be comfortable with fast changing requirements of job.
  • Health and Safety training
