Overview:
Garmin International, Inc. seeks Business Intelligence Developer 3 (Olathe, KS; multiple positions)
Responsibilities:
Leads complex multi-system application development projects and drives collaboration with other teams and departments. Uses SQL, PL/SQL, and data warehouse toolkits to develop ETL. Interacts with ERP, Web development, and Engineering teams to understand the source data. Works with internal users to enhance performance and ensure data of ETL and reports. Creates system and user documentation for new and existing applications. Incorporates appropriate data security throughout all development efforts. Works collaboratively to develop and implement unit and system testing processes. Serves as a mentor to less experienced IT Developers. Works with users to understand and document business objectives in order to satisfy report and data warehouse design requirements. Designs, develops, and tests reports using BI and reporting tools. Works with analysts to develop and implement unit and system testing processes. Provides data modeling and performs architecture reviews of complex data warehouse structures for international internal customers and 24/7 availability. Provides reliable solutions to a wide range of difficult problems including evaluation of new technologies to improve existing functions. Maintains, improves and extends existing software. Understands business impacts of issues and they relate to IT owned solutions. Develops reliable solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creatively. Contributes to advanced technical research on new technologies and determining feasibility of team or functional goals/objectives.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or another related field.
5 (five) years of progressive experience in the IT development environment and demonstrable experience in the following:
Database platforms including Oracle, MySQL, Netezza or other
Business intelligence software tools, including Qlik or Tableau or other
Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) tools including Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Informatica or other ETL tool
SQL or PL/SQL, data warehouse, and development of complex ETL mappings;
Modelling design and technical design/creating technical specification documents;
Dimensional modelling
Advanced capabilities in evaluating new technologies or performing feasibility studies
Mentoring less experienced IT developers
In lieu of a Bachelor’s plus five years of progressive experience, a Master’s plus three years of experience in the requirements noted above is acceptable.
