TMS Reporting Analyst
The TMS Reporting Analyst is responsible for examining and evaluating reporting requirements for the business unit, retrieving data from various systems, compiling and analyzing the data and producing reports. This position is also responsible for proactively generating and compiling reports based on findings, including recommended improvements to business processes, operational procedures, and their corresponding reporting structures as it relates to the data.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
The points below highlight the TMS Reporting Analyst duties:
- Creates data extracts and develops reports in a customer facing format; Interprets and analyzes complex data
- Validates data between source and target systems and verifies that any new data fields are available and populated with correct information; If discrepancies are found, reviews associated MercuryGate XML or other system source files and alerts the Integration and BI teams of incorrect mapping or other data issues
- Develops reports needed for different teams, managers, decision makers or departments using SQL
- Reconciles discrepancies between the expectations of Operations and information presented in their reports
- Responsible for monitoring the schedules or jobs through which reports are delivered for MercuryGate TMS, Mercury Edge, and Cognos, in order to present timely, up-to-date reports that meet customer and internal deadlines
- Implements and maintains procedures and standards to ensure integrity of data; Documents business procedures that impact outcome of data
- Communicates with product owners and other team members to resolve issues or address technical questions
- Other duties as required and assigned by supervisor
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree from a 4 year college or university, emphasis in Logistics/Transportation preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience with report writing and data analysis; or an equivalent combination of both education and training
- Experience working with reporting design tools such as Cognos, Business Objects, Crystal Reports, Power BI, or Tableau preferred
- Intermediate experience with Excel spreadsheets, including data selection, pivot tables, formulas, and functions
- Intermediate SQL experience
- Experience in Supply Chain applications such as MercuryGate, Oracle Transportation Management, Manhattan, or Synapse preferred
- PC literacy to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and co-workers
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to combine business acumen and analytical expertise to provide insights that drive both operational and strategic benefits
- Ability to generate quality outputs in a timely manner with limited supervision
Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk. The employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. The employee is regularly exposed to ambient lighting and temperate climate conditions.
