The mission of the Operations Department is to deliver highly accurate and timely investment performance information reports and services. The Data Analyst plays a primary role in the production of these reports utilizing proprietary software (Keeping Score) to turn transactional data into SCORECARDs™. The Data Analyst is responsible for monthly inbound logistics validation and management, transactional data processing and manipulation, basic client maintenance, online SCORECARD™ generation and data publishing, and ongoing client support in collaboration with the Client Management Team.
As our goal is to continuously improve the operations and efficiency of the department, the Data Analyst is also expected to play a key role in reengineering our human processes, as well as identifying enhancement ideas for the Keeping Score Factory itself.
As with any rapidly growing company and team, the job description of the Data Analyst is constantly changing, as the Analyst is likely to take on additional responsibilities depending on his/her ambition level and ability to learn.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with Data Management Team to process monthly data and generate SCORECARD™ deliverables for existing clients.
- Work with Client Management Team to provide daily client support, data issue resolution, and special request processing.
- Work with Project Management and Development teams to devise enhancement plans, support acceptance testing efforts and work on the integration of released factory tools.
- Education – BS/BA from an accredited college or university (required).
- Background – A strong understanding of mathematics and an analytical background. A basic understanding of investment securities and/or an eagerness to learn about the industry.
- Technology – Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and a conceptual understanding of databases and their functionality is required. Some knowledge of Microsoft Access is a plus, but not essential.
- Communication Skills – Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Responsibility and Professionalism – Ability to work independently in an efficient and responsible manner. Extreme attention to detail and an ability to document processes.
- Teamwork – Experience working effectively with others in a team setting while under the pressure of deadlines.
- Organizational Skills – Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills. Individual must possess a high capacity for multi-tasking, issue management, and conflict resolution.
- Work Ethic – Willingness to work long hours at critical times (i.e., quarterly reporting) based on need.
- Flexibility & Ambition – Desire to work for a young, fast-growing company where individual contributions have significant impact on the success of the Team as a whole.
