The Business Management team within the Global Markets division of Jefferies is a highly analytical and process driven team and provides direct support to the senior management team and business leaders across the Equity and Fixed Income Division.

The role is within the Mumbai Fixed Income Business Management. The candidate will report into the Global Fixed Income COO Team and assist across multiple functions supporting Fixed Income products including High Yield Corporates, High Grade Corporates, Interest Rates, FX, Emerging Markets, Municipals, and Mortgages. This position affords the candidate the opportunity to interact closely with a wide array of disciplines within the Firm and to make a direct contribution in the Firm’s client management efforts

Roles and Responsibilities:

Main areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to:
  • Work in conjunction with Sales, Trading, and Infrastructure teams to support the various Fixed Income business Client Management efforts, particularly focused on sales and cross-product initiatives.
  • Monitor daily production and trades for reasonableness and data quality of sales credits.
  • Manage daily sales credit processes including amendment requests and journals.
  • Manage day to day research management processes, client queries and relationship management.
  • Reconciliation and coding of trading related invoices (e.g., brokerage, clearing, execution fees).
  • Help improve and manage our data quality processes across our CRM (client relationship management) platform
  • Analyze data sets to help identify potential challenges and conceptualize solutions to streamline operations.
  • Create management reporting and develop business requirements documents.
  • Work with the COO Team to analyze and monitor developing trends and create reporting across various metrics
Other areas of focus may include:
  • Drive improvements in the overall sales and CRM processes.
  • Liaise with and support senior management and sales & trading teams on ad-hoc business inquiries.
  • Collaborate with others across the organization to on daily processes, inquiries, or initiatives.
  • Work with business groups to prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly business summaries for the management committee, including year-end business plans and budgets.
  • Conduct various business analysis and reporting.
Qualifications

The role requires an assertive, detail-oriented, and self-motivated individual. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills are a must. Candidates must have the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects with time sensitive deadlines. Ad hoc projects are common and necessitate flexibility and the ability to adapt quickly.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance preferable.
  • Expert with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and other Office applications is required.
  • Excellent communication skills. Keen attention to detail.
  • A confident communicator: able to face off with heads of sales desks and senior management, explaining facts clearly, communicates confidently and effectively across teams
  • Keen attention to detail; highly organized, energetic, and enthusiastic, and able to handle confidential information
  • Ability to work independently, organize time and produce results.
  • Sound understanding of Business & Client Management.
