Associate Director, Customer Centered Analytics & Reporting

The Associate Director, Customer Centered Analytics & Reporting, will lead the strategy, design, development, deployment and support of a customer centered analytics and reporting platform. This role is integral to building out, evolving and upgrading Janssen’s approach to insights and analytics capabilities within the Janssen U.S. organization to deliver understanding of the customers and patients we serve. This role requires strong leadership and demonstrated ability to work across a broad range of key stakeholders and strategic partners to deliver a re-imagined analytics and reporting platform across all engagement channels, inclusive of field and promotional channels.
The Associate Director will direct a team of internal and external partners with data and technology services to provide standard, intuitive and accurate reporting via our Janssen Analytics Collaboration home office application. This role will manage the weekly processing and publishing of the national and sub national analytical reports, trouble shoot improvements, and manage a successful operational team.
They will work closely with the Integrated Analytics, Data Engineering, Data Strategy, Marketing Ops and others in supporting the prioritization of analytics and business intelligence projects across Janssen’s NA therapeutic areas. The Associate Director will act as the operational lead and execute operational excellence practices for the Janssen Analytics Collaboration reporting analytical home office application across the CE organization, internal IT, and software partners, providing regular communications on the progress, enablement, and support operations related to this solution to Senior Leadership.
The Associate Director will also evaluate our business intelligence tools and technologies to further enable the Janssen Analytics Collaboration solution for our Commercial Organization. She/he will work on consolidating the various data and reporting solutions, within the Commercial Excellence organization, working with our internal teams and external partners to ensure we move towards a streamlined data and reporting solution with a vision to deploy services with speed and reduce cost.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
Manage the Janssen Analytical Collaboration reporting application and data warehousing solution for the Commercial Excellence Analytics group. Assist teams in evolving and executing the consolidation of our reporting solution with our other data warehouse systems aligning with overall Commercial Excellence strategy:
- Lead the analytics platform partnering with commercial leadership to identify needs, lead analytics design and enhancements, report/dashboard design and creation, testing, training and support
- Lead a team of partners (vendors) to build and maintain the analytics platform
- Partner with Commercial Excellence teams and IT build, maintain and support the data needs of the Janssen Commercial Pharma Sales & Marketing ecosystem
- Understand and evaluate impact of data events/changes on analytic systems and engage business process owners and data stewards to align on the action plan/next steps
- Lead and oversee the strategic expansion of the Analytics Platform program to include omnichannel marketing data, KPIs, and visualizations
- Make recommendations on improvement of reporting and data processing operations
- Ensuring reporting and data operations are done optimally and offering advice to organization on best practice
- Research, reproduce and lead support case to resolution
- Apply in-depth troubleshooting and debugging skills to identify the root cause of issues
- Collaborate with technical support, development and consultants to resolve highly complex technical issues
- Partner with Development teams to prioritize and resolve key stakeholders’ issues
- Work with partners to document known solutions to internal and external knowledge base
- Provide meaningful insights to improve the customer experience as well as optimize business decisions to the support team and other teams
- Provide effective leadership for staff; day-to-day administrative and technical direction of onsite personnel; assignment of staff personnel to appropriate functions/tasks/duties.
- Establish or improve procedures and controls, where necessary, to ensure that all services meet schedules of production.
- Responsible for collecting, connecting & analyzing product & operational data through the data pipeline. E.g: publishing, delivery, availability, entitlement data
- Responsible for assisting the support team on translating the data into dashboards in order to measure Sales and Marketing KPIs
- Responsible for using data, dashboards to drive POV & build compelling presentations
- Work collaboratively with Operations, Upstream, Downstream and Partner Strategy teams; helping to prioritize business information needs
- Interpret data, analyze results and provide ongoing reports
- Evaluate if/how improvement efforts are affecting performance indicators and outcomes
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- A minimum of a B.A./B.S. is required
- At minimum of 7 years of relevant business experience in digital analytics, business analytics, advanced analytics/data science, marketing, strategic planning or management consulting is required.
- Experience within Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, over-the-counter medicines or other regulated industry.
- Experience with analytics platforms, customer data platforms, media, and full funnel analyses across digital/media formats
- Expert knowledge of data querying/data analysis/reporting solutions using BI tools, specifically Tableau with an eye towards visualization
- Strong Project Management skills working in a highly collaborative and matrix environment
- Strong Business and Data Analysis skills with focus on pharmaceutical commercial operations across one or more relevant therapeutic areas
- Track record of leading teams that have developed and delivered reporting solutions and data warehouse solutions with high utilization, adoption and satisfaction
- Ability to work with external and internal teams on various projects/enhancements as well as manage projects independently
- Ability to support reporting and datawarehousing solutions in production – incident management, service requests and management reporting working with partners
- Strong communication skills especially while dealing with diverse functional groups
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience working with marketing/omnichannel data sources and KPIs
- Knowledge of data management related SoPs and workflows
- Knowledge of data governance and data management best practices
- Knowledge of Commercial Life Sciences data sets (NPP, DDD, Xponent, Plantrak, SPP)
- Knowledge of Cloud Components such as AWS (Python/SPARK/EMR/Glue/RedShift)
- Experience with building and supporting data and ETL pipelines in Cloud
- Understanding of data lifecycle, data quality, metadata and data management
