Job Description

The Business Management Associate will be an integral part of the Private Banking Mortgage Center Operations team and responsible for developing and leading key analytics projects that focus on improving bottom-line efficiencies and topline growth of the business. More specifically:

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Business Analysis or Product owners in Analytics/Business reports projects
  • Extensive experience in working as Business Analyst/Product Owner in Business reports development projects or any Analytics projects with deep involvement/contribution in entire SDLC
  • Hands-on experience in data validation/analysis in depth exposure in managing business reporting requirements and driving the requirements independently from inception till go-live.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate across all levels, including the executive presence to interact with and influence senior management
  • BS/BA or equivalent, ideally in a technical or quantitative field such as Mathematics, Finance or Engineering
  • Good to have hands-on usage of analytics tools like SAS/SQL and Advanced MS Excel

Roles and responsibilities:

  • You will leverage data and analysis to develop quantifiably supported business cases and support strategic recommendations
  • You will conduct intelligence, identify opportunities for improvement and lead special projects, as needed
  • You will communicate product strategy, deliver senior executive reporting that effectively tell the story around the business transformation, major priorities, and key results
  • You will synthesize the Mortgage product strategy by providing strategic guidance for the build-out of KPI and driving progress towards business objectives, key results, and identifying key risks and opportunities
  • You will effectively partner with a diverse array of constituents to deliver high quality work in a deadline driven and fast paced environment. Act as a trusted resource, generating creative solutions/fresh approaches to internal and external client issues
  • You will understand the available data elements, and collaborate with the technology team as well as business users to identify & support the current/future data and analytics needs
  • You will serve as the bridge between business users, product and the MIS/IT team by translating business needs into data/system requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA graduation and any certifications in analytics space
  • 5+ years of experience in analytics or strategy roles
  • Knowledge and proficiency in multiple analytical tools (such as Alteryx, SAS, SQL, Python and/or R, Tableau)
  • Experience within the Mortgage industry

  • Compliance Assurance provides independent assurance services to assist HSBC in the timely identification, evaluation and mitigation of regulatory and financial crime risks. We are responsible for testing the effectiveness of the management of regulatory and financial crime risks and assessing whether the business is operating in line with relevant laws, regulations, principles and HSBC Group standards, including whether the Compliance sub-functions are designed appropriately and operating optimally.
  • Establish and maintain a robust and efficient control environment to ensure good operational, financial and project management and compliance with HSBC policy and procedures, together with early identification and effective resolution or escalation of issues that arise.
  • Support the development, implementation and maintenance of management information, analysis and reporting framework that supports and informs timely and effective business management and decision making at all levels.

Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications (For the role – not the role holder. Minimum requirements of the role.)

  • At least 3-4 of overall Industry experience
  • At least 3 years of hands-on analytics experience solving complex business problems using data
  • Master’s degree from reputed university in statistics, economics or any other quantitative fields would be an added advantage.
  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 4-5 years of industry experience with at least 4 years of hand-on analytics experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with business analysis experience or equivalent. In-depth knowledge and understanding of
  • financial-services/ banking-operations is a must

Technical Skills (Basic to Intermediary Level):

  • Experience of modern analysis methods and machine learning algorithms (For e.g.- Regression, Classification,
  • Decision tree, Random Forest, Gradient boosting, XG Boost, Neural Networks etc.) would be important
  • Proficiency working in Python and other Data Science Tools
  • Proficiency in visualization tools such as QlikSense / Tableau / PowerBI
