We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Project Manager:

In this role, you will:

  • Provide Data Privacy support and guidance to DAO colleagues and their customers, globally.
  • Provide guidance on the operation of Data Privacy Controls to stakeholders globally.
  • Provide leadership and support to other members of the DAO privacy team based in India.
  • Play a leading role in developing our strategic response to new and developing privacy issues such as data localisation, geo-politics, developments in privacy laws and use of privacy enhancing technologies.
  • Assist in developing, managing and maintaining data standards, policies and methodologies in line with Group Data Privacy Policy.
  • Support the development and delivery of data privacy and protection controls based on data policies that assure the compliant use of data and information across borders and through our supply chain.
  • Perform privacy assessments of operational processes, identifying, and mitigating risks through effective tools, training and guidance.
  • Provide support in developing and administering guidance, training and educational materials.
  • Identify areas of improvement in global practices relative to managing data privacy.
  • Working with stakeholders to plan future data privacy needs.
  • Acting as a role model on data privacy laws, working collaboratively with Group Legal Privacy and Regulatory Compliance to communicate data risk.
  • Championing, raising awareness and understanding of Group Data Privacy Policy and control framework.

Leadership & Teamwork

  • Act as a senior member of HSBC Group Data Privacy team.
  • Play a leading role in the ongoing development of HSBC’s data privacy strategy.
  • Provide direction and support on data privacy globally.
  • Establish policies to attract, retain and motivate high calibre talent.
  • Influence DAO leadership and senior stakeholders regionally through action and strong leadership.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

Knowledge & Experience

  • Detailed knowledge of global privacy principles and data privacy laws that impact HSBC, its customers and staff, including the GDPR.
  • Solid knowledge of major international Laws and Regulations impacting data privacy.
  • Ability to practically apply privacy laws to real world scenarios, providing simple, comprehensible and measurable guidance and solutions to privacy related queries.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, understand technology and commercial concepts quickly.
  • Strong relationships skills / ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure with competing and rapidly changing priorities.
  • Proven track record of taking ownership / responsibility for work and be comfortable working independently.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate privacy risks with the ability to understand materiality of risks and prioritise / differentiate response accordingly.
  • Flexible approach to working hours and environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Resourceful, creative and inquisitive approach to highly complex tasks.
