Grad Intern – Biomics Data Science

Lets do this. Lets change the world. During this program, you will join our Biomics Data Science team in building up a proteomics data compendium and applying it to biomarker discovery, drug target identification and patients stratification. This data resource would provide rich information about protein expression distribution and specificity across normal and diseased tissues, which is a valuable complement to the RNA data for biomarker and drug target studies.
- Collect external and internal Proteome datasets to make a data resource for protein expression across tissues, cell lines and diseases
- Summarize protein annotation including localization, function categorization, GO, pathway, and etc
- Build a web application for the query of protein expression and annotation
- Integrate the resource to our existing tools such as omics browser and/or tissue-specific single-cell atlases

Basic Qualifications
Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:
- 18 years or older
- Graduated with a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
- Currently enrolled in an MBA program for an MBA internship OR a Masters program for a
- Masters internship OR a PharmD program for a PharmD internship OR Ph.D. for a PhD internship from an accredited college or university and completion of the first year of MBA OR
- Masters OR Pharm D OR Ph.D. program before the internship starts
- Enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship or co-op assignment
- Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
- Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree concentration(s) in computational biology, data science, or software development
- Experience in working with multi-omics data, and especially the proteomics data
- Experience in working with Linux environment and data science tools for visualization and reporting results
- Experience in developing web application, database, and working with big data

The base pay range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $30.00 – $40.00 per hour.
