Position Overview

Job Title: Operational Reference Data Services (ORDS) Tax – US Tax Control Business Analyst

Overview:

You’ll be joining Operational Reference Data Services (ORDS) which comprises of New Client Adoption (NCA), Client Due Diligence, Tax Form Validation, Account Maintenance, and Reference Data Services (RDS). The group provides operational services across the Global Markets and Corporate Investment Banking (CIB) clients globally, which enable client business, regulatory and tax compliance, protect against client lifecycle risk, and drive-up data standards within the Firm. The role is a control oversight position of the tax activities that are performed within ORDS who process tax forms, classifies clients, and records relevant client static required to report to US tax authorities. The role requires solution coordination to address identified control gaps or process weaknesses and changes required due to either internal policy changes or updated regulations. It will also support in the data standards and data quality definitions required for Tax.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Scope ORDS US end to end tax process to identify gaps/issues, identify improvements to processes, and procedures & systems. Also, ensures that self-identified issues are raised and progressed to closure, where applicable
  • Help design and set up, where applicable, new controls and align to QA/QC monitoring
  • Create and maintain a detailed process map of ORDS tax processes in the US across supported products and business lines
  • Partner with key stakeholders to monitor for changes to US tax legislation to ensure complete understanding and quality of requirements for ORDS implementation; liaise between ORDS tax and Global RTB Tax Governance teams in the development of US tax related Data Standards & Data Quality definitions
  • Work with the RTB team to develop/enhance Key Operating Procedures (KOP) for newly or enhanced processes
  • Develop and distribute data MI to stakeholders and ORDS management

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Background in US operational tax related processes, with primary focus on client due diligence
  • Understanding of Chapter 3/61, FATCA, and related regulations; as well as knowledge of FATCA Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) Framework and the Common Reporting Standard (CRS) beneficial, but not essential
  • Must have strong organization skills, the ability to work alone, and the ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines with no loss of accuracy
  • Must be a team player, determined, and hardworking with good attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities
  • Understanding of the workings of an investment bank and the lifecycle of a trade is a plus
