The Spire Group is seeking a Business Analyst II to support the Business in their operational management of providing quality service to our customer base. Works closely with Information Technology and Customer Experience to resolve defects, architect solutions and analyze data for performance improvements.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with Business stakeholders to understand the business case and potential impacts to operational, financial and customer service to troubleshoot and resolve problems associated with application and process errors, encompassing the Customer Information System application and other interfacing software.
  • Partner with the Business stakeholders in ongoing reviews and analysis of quality, performance and error reports to make recommendations for improvements affecting customer satisfaction and reduction in resources and expenses (includes data analytics).
  • Participate in planned and emergency system releases and assists Business Stakeholders with testing the changes/impacts affecting their areas
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance and Training, communicating system changes, recommending best practices and understanding new functionality.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and adapt in a fast-moving and changing culture
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to build and establish rapport with a diverse array of people especially the Business stakeholders that we serve.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in order to meet goals and deadlines demanded by Spire’s drive for quality customer service.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and display a positive attitude for this dynamic environment.
  • All other duties as assigned


Essential Characteristics and Competencies


Supervisory Responsibilities

  • None, however, considered a leader for all employees in data gathering, analysis and technology project activities.


Required Education (certifications, licenses)

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business related discipline, or equivalent experience is required.


Required knowledge, skill and abilities

  • A minimum of three to five years of testing, configuration, defect resolution and data mapping experience related to billing, payments and collection activities. Oracle CC&B experience preferred.
  • Experience in creating Functional Specifications, Requirements, Test Scripts and Process Flows is required.
  • High level of analytical ability including data integration, query building and reporting. Experience with SQL required. Data analytics experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a production support type environment, supporting business users and resolving issues, is required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to build and establish rapport with a diverse array of people.
  • A mindset for customer service


Physical demands, environment and schedule

  • Normal Work Environment – Work is normally performed in a shared office environment
  • Requires frequent phone calls and interruption both during and after working hours
  • Occasionally requires work during nonstandard business hours
  • Overtime and/or travel may be required
