Job Location: Glendale, CA

Disney Media Distribution (Int’l) and Disney-ABC Home Entertainment TV Distribution (North America) license content on behalf of all Disney Producers (i.e. ABC Studios, Walt Disney Studios, Lucas, Marvel, etc) to numerous customers throughout the world. Specific products in the Digital area include Transaction Video On Demand (TVOD), Subscription Video on Demand (SVOD), Electronic Home Video (EHV), and Advertising Video On Demand (AVOD). In exchange for the rights to make this content available to their end users, companies such as Apple, Netflix, Comcast, etc pay Disney a license fee that is based on a royalty calculation and may include Minimum Guarantees. The Digital COE Accounting team is responsible for (1) obtaining the royalty reports from the customers, (2) reconciling the reported fees to the contractually agreed terms, (3) resolving disputed calculation with the customers, (4) invoicing and applying cash, (5) aiding in collection efforts, and (6) MG recognition and allocation to the titles.

Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Ownership of metadata related to the Accounting data elements required in Accounting for the digital distribution of TWDC content
  • Develop and maintain data model related to data used within the MediaMorph system used to manage Transactional and Subscription based revenue businesses
  • Partner with MediaMorph operations team to ensure that all product mapping requirements are met on a weekly basis
  • Maintain Disney’s Product master in the MediaMorph system to ensure that display names, genres and segments are updated on a weekly basis
  • Reporting expert for MediaMorph data reviewing Qlikview dashboards daily for any irregularities investigating any data discrepancies and being go to person for ad hoc report requests
  • Partner with business operations team and MediaMorph Operations to onboard new clients and ensure that data transforms are working effectively
  • Develop and document requirements for new functionality that will enhance the MediaMorph system
  • Perform User Acceptance testing for new system functionality and upgrades
  • MPM Issue creation in SAP for bundles, TV episodes and certain business models, as needed
  • Reconcile Mediamorph SFS to SAP on a monthly basis
  • Work with Talent Audit to provide necessary reports and support from our systems/files to satisfy audit request and support our license fees
  • Perform data visualization dashboard reviews to help identify reporting anomalies to be further investigated and communicated to key stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Accounting/Finance, IT/Data Analytics
  • Data Science degree would be preferred.
  • 3 years experience
  • Strong with Big Data and knowledge of the entertainment industry.
