Our Global Data & Analytics team is the hub of harvesting and analyzing data to drive strategic, customer-centric business decisions for our brands. By collaborating with partners across a broad variety of business functions, associates on our D&A team provide recommendations that allow our teams to push boundaries and stay at the forefront of retail trends.

As our data and technology capabilities continue evolving, D&A will need to play a consultative role in helping the business understand WHY and HOW machine learning and AI can benefit the organization and WHERE these techniques can be leveraged to drive value.

This individual will be the liaison between the business and the Data Science functions to ensure business opportunities are being properly captured and translated into technical requirements for development of ML models and applications.


What Will You Be Doing?

  • In this role, the individual will be responsible for managing the end-to-end lifecycle of all data science models AND applications. This includes:

    • Works with business functions (marketing, customer, merchandising, planning, digital product, supply chain, etc.) to understand business needs, assess/vet opportunities and identify problems best suited to be solved by data science solutions
    • Manages stakeholder requests, gathers requirements, conducts initial t-shirt sizing around level of impact (LOI) and level of effort (LOE); prioritizes requests into data science product roadmap; collaborates with data science managers to ensure successful execution
    • Follows industry trends in retail data analytics/machine learning practices; contributes ideas and actively participates in POC’s of new technologies
    • Works with data science managers to design solutions, including but not limited to:

      • Conducts research & discovery to identify viable options to solve business challenges
      • Identifies which data sources are required to solve the problem
      • Identifies which data sources exist vs. what may need to be sourced externally
      • Recommends analytics/modeling techniques that are best suited to solve for business needs
    • Briefs data scientists and/or data engineers, providing requirements & specifications for development
    • Reviews development / model outputs to ensure alignment back to requirements
    • Manage project progress and delivery milestones
    • Provides detailed stories on key insights, findings, and recommendations in a digestible and actionable manner to stakeholders and leadership through polished presentations.
    • If application is developed, works with business to provide training, support and ongoing maintenance


What Do You Need To Bring?

  • Bachelor’s degree required (master’s preferred) in disciplines related to data science, data analytics, mathematics or engineering, or other fields of science/technology
  • 5-7 years working in a consultative role within the data, analytics, and technology domain
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience using SQL, Python and or R to wrangle data and develop models
  • Strong understanding of data science concepts and their applications to the business (Regression, Decision Trees, Clustering, Classification methods, Optimization Methods, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of data engineering concepts
  • Ability to simplify complexed technical topics and distill down for a business audience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized; proven ability to effectively multitask between several projects and competing priorities in a dynamic business environment
  • Strong networking, interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Experience operating in an agile environment, operating in sprints, and leading standups

Notice (For Colorado, New York, and California): The recruiting pay range for this position is $140,000 – $157,000. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, your years of experience, your work location, comparison to other employees in similar or related roles, or market demands. The range may be modified in the future.
