Amazon Ads applies machine learning and big data technologies to change the way marketers plan, measure, and optimize their advertising campaigns. The Measurement, Ad-Tech & Data Science team is seeking a Principal Product Manager with the experience, drive and strategic vision to grow Amazon Advertising though innovative advertising measurement products. Candidates are expected to think big, have a strong bias for action, and a history of delivering advertising products to customers.

This position can be based in Boulder (CO), Arlington (VA), Seattle (WA), or New York City (NY).

  • Obsess over customer trust, providing reliable and actionable measurement to advertising customers.
  • Apply judgement to decisions based on understanding of customer benefits, advertising industry knowledge, applicable technologies, and data you collect and analyze.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and user experience leaders on product strategy, requirements, and releases.
  • Facilitate trade-offs between short-term team needs and long-term business needs.
  • Evangelize product roadmaps through effective written and verbal communications at different levels of management.
  • Evaluate customer adoption post-release, highlighting strengths and weakness to product owners.

A day in the life
As a product leader in Amazon Advertising, you engage with business leaders, product management, and engineering to develop a product vision for ad measurement. You communicate strategy through written narratives that leverage your industry awareness, research, and customer anecdotes. You promote innovation through your product vision and work closely with your team develop execution plans and delivery milestones with an emphasis customer value and rapid iteration. This is distilled to a product roadmap and routine communications that keep stakeholders and customer informed.

About the team
The Measurement, Ad-Tech, and Data Science team provides campaign performance reporting including development and management of machine learning algorithms to measure advertiser performance, calculate reach and determine the impact of different campaign tactics. Advertisers use our campaign performance data, reporting, and insights to guide their advertising investments and increase the relevance of ads shown to Amazon shoppers.

• MBA or equivalent degree
• Composed understanding of data visualization and reporting
• Proficient in Hive, Python or SQL
• Experience leading initiatives with cross-functional stakeholders (engineering, product, usability, content development)
• Ability to work in ambiguous situations and across organizational boundaries
