The Analyst/Sr Analyst, AAdvantage® Rewards and Benefits Strategy is part of the team responsible for designing our benefits and rewards ecosystem. The team is charged with creating a program proposition that makes every customer want to become an AAdvantage® member and gives AAdvantage® members at every stage of the customer lifecycle valuable reasons to engage. Your work product will impact millions of AAdvantage® members every year and you will create the strategies to enhance and evolve program assets like core membership benefits, AAdvantage® Status, Loyalty Point Rewards, multi-year benefits, experiential rewards, and the ConciergeKey® and Million Miler programs.

You will work cross-functionally with teams across the American Airlines enterprise to bring the program to life, represent loyalty in a variety of forums, present to senior leadership, and create compelling strategies that deliver value to both our members and the AAdvantage® program.

What you’ll do

  • Analyze data from members, benefits, and rewards to inform programmatic changes and identify opportunities
  • Build business cases that grow the value of benefits and reward propositions
  • Collaborate and lead cross-functionally with teams such as Revenue Management, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Customer Insights, Customer Service, and Premium Guest Services
  • Write and socialize proposals via effective and data-validated narratives
  • Monitor status qualification trends and design related program requirements
  • Design program benefits, such as upgrades, Loyalty Point rewards, new and multi-year benefits
  • Create and maintain program policies (including Ts&Cs, mileage expiration, etc.) and training materials about the AAdvantage® program
  • Drive enhancement of member recognition
  • Lead relationships with various areas across the American Airlines enterprise

All you’ll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • 3 years of professional work experience

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Master of Business Administration or other related field
  • Previous loyalty marketing, CRM, insights, customer behavioral sciences, or commercial airline experience
  • Strategy experience in customer focused companies/industries
  • Experience with SQL and Tableau highly preferred

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Exceptional business acumen with firm grasp of marketing principles, economic concepts, and customer-focused mindset
  • Excellent communication, presentation, creative thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills capable of influencing others across levels of the organization
  • Knowledge of AAdvantage® products and propositions as well as consumer alternatives
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to perform customer data analysis using complex data sets
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to balance multiple priorities effectively under tight time constraints
  • Knowledge and understanding of customer data
  • Knowledge and understanding of customer experience and engagement best practices
  • Ability to develop creative solutions and innovative strategies to drive business results
  • Ability to drive innovation
