Job Description
OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE:
-
Build and lead a team of business analysts to support decision making across GDO functions and enable fast and predictable delivery of clinical trials through operational analytics, data science methodology, and reporting.
-
Drive the operational analytics and reporting strategy related to development of tools for GDO functions, bespoke operational insights and dashboards for study teams, and coordinating predictive modelling solutions for high-priority problem statements with Takeda functions and external vendors.

Liaise with GDO Leadership Teams to translate their strategic and operational priorities into effective analytical plans to measure success and effectively articulate business impact
-
Liaise with various internal and external groups (Study Execution Teams, Clinical Operations, Innovation & Data, Global Patient Safety Evaluation, Therapeutic Area Units, regions, CROs, and external vendors) to ensure proper development, deployment, and adoption of platform analytics to inform study planning, execution and reporting.

Lead systematic professional development and provide strong support for direct reports
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
-
Responsible for leading the development, execution and adoption of business intelligence, reporting, bespoke analytics and predictive modelling deliverables.
-
Responsible for identifying, standardizing, and operationalizing high-value analytics deliverables that support the long-term trial design and delivery
-
Responsible for partnering with GDO business function leads and study teams to evaluate feasibility of bespoke analytics to support specific trial needs, translate business requirements into actionable analytics projects, and provision adequate access to required data sources.

Responsible for ensuring compliance of assigned staff to training of quality standards (including Takeda SOPs, ICH GCP, and local regulations) and inspection readiness in execution of Takeda studies and trials.

Responsible for training, coaching and mentoring Business Analysts and overseeing coaching of new hires in navigating career progression options within Takeda.

Maintain a positive, results orientated work environment, building partnerships and modelling teamwork, communicating to the teams and stakeholders in an open, balanced and objective manner.

Supports functional strategic initiatives and processes Act as a role model for Takeda’s values

Supports Head of Business Analytics & Insights in identifying high-priority problem statements and coordinating analytics solutions with Takeda functions and external vendors.

Evaluates, recommends, and communicates appropriate data visualization best practices, predictive models/techniques, and industry knowledge to other team members.

Provide hands-on expertise and works collaboratively to design and execute bespoke analytics to support specific trial needs as required
-
Responsible for leading, managing workflow and resource utilization, including: Ensure timely and high-quality business analytics and reporting deliverables in support of Takeda’s portfolio. Prioritization of support requests and coordination of timeline expectations between Business Analysts and GDO stakeholders to balance criticality of support with team capacity. Ensure Business Analysts are appropriately resourced, connected, and empowered to deliver on assigned analytics requests and projects. Accountable for maintaining portfolio market intelligence and analytics for portfolio analysis, including liaising with external data vendors.

Serve as Subject Matter Expert for operational analytics and reporting, business intelligence, and data visualization for internal initiatives and projects; act as point of escalation for resolution of emergent issues pertaining these areas

Works with GDO line functions to develop, plan, and manage bespoke analytics and machine learning initiatives to stakeholders across the organization.

Thorough knowledge of pharmaceutical industry and deep understanding of drug development from research through commercialization

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
-
Bachelors’ Degree or international equivalent in Life Sciences, Computer Sciences, Mathematics, or similar quantitative discipline required; advanced degree preferred.
-
8+ years of applicable business intelligence, data visualization, and/or drug development experience; global experience and experience in drug development strongly preferred
-
4+ years of line management experience including management of staff across multiple sites/regions; experience in implementing large scale initiatives and building capabilities desired
-
Experience in people leadership, managing global teams and coordinating collaboration with cross-functional teams; experience managing a data or BI team highly advantageous
-
Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between business requirements and data required
-
Experience working with IT partners and vendors for business solutions desired
-
Strong strategic thinking, planning, execution, and communication skills, ability to act at operational and strategic levels
-
Global/international experience required, including ability to collaborate with colleagues and staff in other locations
-
Operational experience in pharmaceutical drug development with significant direct exposure to clinical development
-
Healthcare business acumen with a comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry highly advantageous

Base Salary Range: $143,500.00 to $205,000.00, based on candidate professional experience level. Employees may also be eligible for Short Term and Long-Term Incentive benefits as well. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Charitable Contribution Match, Holidays, Personal Days & Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program and Paid Volunteer Time Off.
